It's another privilege to be here again and i trust we all are doing great. I will be discussing on the topic Getting help from external family members - My story. This is discussed below:
Have you been helped by your extended family members such as your uncles or aunts? We want to read your story.
My story about getting alms from my extended family members is nothing to talk about! I have discovered that in life, you must not rely on anybody either aunty or uncle to rise up.
If you keep your hope on this people, you might not reach your destination. But in some families, they can serve as great pillar to their niece and nephew.
When i was still in my NDs, i called my Aunty for financial help to enable me pay my fees, she in turn told me to call my Uncle (my mummy's brother), that he is working in Mobil company and he is capable of training more than 10 persons in school! and i told her that you are my blood as well as my father, that is why i am calling you!
She complaint allot before sending me a #20,000. So i still call my uncle and he said no money for now! But he later send me #15,000 and gave me directives on how to distribute the cash. He said i should take #5,000 and give my mum #10,000.
When i wanted to do my clearance, i call my Aunty and explained everything to her but she started quarrelling me on phone.
Her reasons was i had not been calling her, but it's when i need help before i will remember her! This really worried me but i kept silent and she sent me #10,000.
I called her and send my greetings and i vowed never to call her for help again, even when i know that they are capable to give me above #50,000 each but greed has made them to be giving trash.
I struggled myself and went for my HND program without calling any of the from the beginning to the end. I went for service and when my uncle saw my post on Facebook, he typed congratulations.
I was very happy at that because he thought i wont fodder my education without his help but God gave me grace.
After 4/5 years i refused to call my aunty, she called my mum on phone and started complaining that i have not been calling her for over years now and my mum told her that my phone was stollen so i don't have her number.
But she went on and said, how about on Facebook? Before we use to chart on WhatsApp and Facebook. But my mum could not answered that part.
How do you see them? What do you wish for them?
Well i saw them as people who don't want the young ones in the family to grow because of greed and this is very bad. They are crafty in nature and only smile on your face but inside their heart is dark.
What am wishing them is God should keep the. Alive and let them see how God will take me to my place of Honor. This will be a lesson to them and help them to learn something should in case they are opportune to come back in next generation.

When you read details above, you will see that i refused the call my aunt not to talk of my uncle for over 5 years now because of the statement she made that that it's only when i needs help, i remembered her! so because of this fact, i vowed never to call them again for any help.
And i discovered that i can do better even without their help. This has made me strong and also strive hard like a man. Today i have graduated and went for service without their assistance.
Don't over expect help from your extended family members because them also have responsibility to handle.
Once you asked for assistance and you discover a kind of move that is not clear, please back off and start thinking the possible way out.

Yea that is just the truth about everything, if you are expecting a #50,000 then you are given #20,000 you should be thankful and sort your way out for the balanced.

You may find yourself asking for help from your siblings and aunts and uncles but be careful not to expect too much from them. They also have a lot of responsibility, so don't expect them to drop everything just because you need help.
This part is scaring to me. Is well oo. Just be careful since you have noticed this attitude from them. Is good that you are not depending on them for survival.
Yes oo, you should always have alternatives. I wished i know about Steemit ecosystem then, i would have been in school from year 1 to my finals without calling anyone for help.

I swear it is not a lie some people a greedy and envy when the sees another person survive or making it small Small this people should should be throw away from this planet
If you have a family member that is going through a difficult time, it is important to be patient and understanding.
What a story. Versions of this story is almost in every family. Sometimes I wonder why it should be so. Am really sorry you have to find your way to sponsor your HND program, but am happy you made it. The scripture below is always true:
People, especially extended family members will always disapppoint you, but God wont. Happy for your life now.

In everything always put your trust in God some family members do not like to help their fellow members in that family because they will feel that after everything you will upgrade more than them
True talk. I think this engagement is really helping us to learn many things from our members in terms of life as a whole.
@innocent10 indeed whenever you put your trust in God he will never disappoint you unless your hand are not clean indeed also their are wicked people who don't really love people succeeding around them
It is not always easy to help someone else when they are going through a difficult time, especially if they have children.

Well,I can say that you received at least a little help from them and also am happy that you never went back in your education but tried your best in graduating and making it in life.

It's so bad that people who should look out for our progress are actually the ones behind our downfall.

You can't expect them to be able to help you at the same time they are going through their own difficult time

Even the Bible says that each one should carry his own load. Therefore, we should always try to be independent
Sorry about your experince but like you said, they have their own problems, and the truth is only those the generous ones will help out. Just be careful snf trust that God will see you through

I think this second statement explains the reason your uncle and aunt couldn't give you more money like you expected. Moreover you should be appreciative of the fact that you got help from them no matter how little and not call it "trash"

It's easy to expect that your extended family members will help you with a tough task, but you should be aware that they also have responsibilities and do not have unlimited time to help you.
I want to add in your conclusion that family members that are not related to you have a lot of responsibilities and they don't always have the time to help you out. As a result, if you're expecting them to help you with a task, you should know that they might not be able to help you and it's important to be patient.
