Greetings one great community, i am delighted to be here again. I trust we all are doing great. Today i will be discussing on Drug Abuse and how you can protect yourself from its effects.

What is drug abuse?

To a lane man understanding, Drug abuse is when you under rate a drug or used it the wrong way. Whenever you are using a particular drug because of the pleasure you are gaining from it, it stance the chance of affecting you in a long run and by this time, it will be difficult for you to stop it after it must have dealt with your immune system.

Drug Abuse is so common today especially amongst the young ones. Taking more than the dosage/measurement of any chemical substance and adhering to it, its what is known as drug abuse.

In what ways have you observed people abuse drugs?

In my local area, i have seen young people abuse drugs by taking it daily. Many young guys take drugs in order to sex and impress a girl. This became a normal life style for young guy and not minding the constituencies it might cause them in future.

Young people have abuse some drugs by taking it daily and this in turn has weakened their immune system and make them worthless.

The implication of drugs is, if you take 1 today, by tomorrow you will be taking 2 to do the same work and by next week you can increase it to 3 and so on.

At this point, you are now addicted to it and you can not do without it. This is the major reason why many relationships today is in pains, due to when the young man met his partner today, he performed well and as time goes on, he can no longer performed anymore and this will leads to breakup.

Even paracetamol has effect when abused or wrongly taken. Some persons takes cocaine, cigarette, Indian hem while some are into drinking alcohol.

Abuse of drug might not have effect the first day but as you consistently take it, it becomes a habit that you can not leave easily.

I have seen several cases where young people fell from bike because of drug abuse. Some people had in mind that it gives strength to do work and they became addicted to it which has caused them more harm than good.

State some reasons why drug abuse is common.

• Today we are all aware that cigarette and alcohol is legal accessible to all. For example Nicotine and alcohol are legal drugs which are highly risky for addiction.

This drugs has carried many to the early grave and many worthless, this is because the drug is legally loose. Here we can see that even the law makers are even addicted to it. Now young people go into this because of some persons around them who are smoking.

• Today peer group can equally influence us to become addicted to harmful drugs which will destroy our system. Sometimes we take it in order to become a hard man, while some take it because of the influence of friends to feel belonging.

• Lack of job to do by youth will lead to drug abuse. This is because they are idle and have no work to do!

• Wrong advice from friends and poor home training can bring about drug abuse.

What are the harmful effects of drug abuse

There are numerous effects which drug abuse has done to people and these can be life threatening and very fatal. Some of these effect can be seen below:

• Fatigue
• Heart problem
• Diarrhea
• Dizziness
• Vomiting
• kidney issue
• Drunkenness
• Rash

Suggest practical ways that drug abuse will be prevented or even eliminated.

The only way in which drug can be prevented is for the government to come in to the matter.

I saw how government stop the selling of tramadol and this was effective when specific agent were set aside to act in place the government.

When they started the job, it was very serious up to the point where many shops were closed up. Many pharmacist no longer keep the drugs inside their shop again, and really brought fear to the people because even you that want to buy it, you are at risk.

And this was also a measure to caught those who still sell Tramadol because the buyers were now spice to the drug.

I think this way really help to reduce the rate in which the drug was consumed. If the drug enforcement agency can implement and set up a unit who can go round the medicine shops to check for strong drugs, i think the rate in its sold out will reduce and this will equally put fear in the mind of the consumers of such harmful drugs.

The future is in the hands of the youths, now that youths are into drug abuse what will become the outcome?

It simply means, if preventive measures are not taken, the future of our youth will be in bondage of drugs. Because at this point, they won't be able to live without drugs which would be bad.

My advice is that the Drug Enforcement Agency should set an arm that will go round in search for who will be a victim of selling this drug.

In conclusion, the government should equally set force men to search for those who takes drugs and if caught, justice should be done as this will put fear in the country at large and people will stay away from drug.

Note, if they are bribe with money and it's accepted, then drug abuse will continue.
