Ojo is not just a local government area but also a town in lagos Nigeria. It is a home to the lagos state university and many other government establishments.
Ojo was founded by Esugbemi and his wife, together with Osu the chief priest. They all migrated from ile-ife to settle at Ilu-Ife. He later discovered a swamp forest which is now the present day ojo and the ojo loacl market is in the heart of this discovering.
Transportation
Mainly people go through the roads to access the market except for the local who still prefer to go through the ojo river.
The market is located in the southern hlaf of Ojo and the main roads are Alaba, Old ojo Drive, and Olojo drive.
This market is Unique in so many ways, one is for the traditional medicine market. No other market In ojo can boast of that.
When it comes to traditional medicine this is the right marmet for it.
You can find all kinds of harbs and animal remains even living animals.
The first time i saw a snake it was in this market, it was inside a cage and it was for sale.
You can get body parts of animals from lion to Antelops, Chameleon
It also have other sections of the market where you can find locally made mats and baskets. It is also a home for coconuts. They even some times call it the coconut market. Apart from badagry another place you can find coconut at a very cheap price and in large quantity is in this market.

In Ojo local market, you can find all types of fish from dry to fresh. I remember my day in the university, when ever am about to come back to the east my mother would take me to this part of the market to by me dry fish, because of the ojo river fish can be bought at a very affordable price compired to other places without water bodies.
If you ever visit lagos or you are in lagos, try and visit the ojo local market, you would be amazed at what you would find. The market to me can be reconmmended as a tourist site.
From the river, to the market and even the traders which comprises of so many localities am very sure you would be amazed at what you would find
