Human’s have the greatest evolution within. The stem cells are special cells in the human body which has no specific function, and could develop or form other different type of cells in the body. This means that’s the stem cell can be used to form any other cell and part of the body. Interesting isn’t it?.
Unlike every other cells in the body, the stem cells are unspecific and undifferentiated cells, because the have no specific purpose or function until the are been triggered or assigned by the body to a specific purpose, either due to the case of tissue repair in the body which could be as a result of external factors such as an injury and other physical damage. Mutation(alteration of the structure of a gene or cell, leading to disarrangement or destruction of the gene or cell.) too can also be a cause of “lack of tissue repair”, whereby the cells have been mutated(a change in form or nature) making it an abnormal cell. Here the brain signals this stem cells with no specific function as a replacement to support the other cells, making it a specific cell then. Let’s take for instance the red blood cell. The red blood cell is differentiated cause it’s work is carrying oxygen throughout the human body, Like wise other cells.

A layman understanding of the word “stem cell”
For instance, when you encounter injuries on your physical body(skin) as time goes on the area of the injury heals up. This is because when the damage occurred the cells around that area were destroyed, now the brain signals inactive cells,( cells that has not yet been activated)making them active for the purpose of tissue repair in the injured area.

  • THE TYPE OF STEM CELLS

There are 2 major type of stem cells

  • Adult stem cell
  • Embryonic stem cell
  • THE ADULT STEM CELL

these stem cells are undifferentiated cells all over the body since formation. These cells multiply by cell division in order to replenish dying tissues and cells. The are also called somatic cells, which is any biological cell that forms the body of multicellular organisms except from the gametes.
This means the form all part of the human body but not involved in reproduction.

  • THE EMBRYONIC STEM CELL

They are otherwise called pluripotent stem cells due to there ability to form a complete individual or any part of the body. One of theses cells replicating are gotten from the human embryo or fetus. With the ability of these cells, scientists has gone deep into adding technology to stem cells.

I hope you find this post captivating and interesting, looking forward to publishing
