Dear steemians I had a great day today at the STAKEHOLDERS ROUND TABLE discussion on the future of Niger Delta in the current security turmoil in Nigeria.
The discussion was centered on measures to protect the people of Niger Delta, Nigeria from Attack.
Notable personalities that graced this event were , Honorable Commissioner for Information Rivers State - Pst. Paulinus Nsirim MNIPR, Sir, Amaopusenibo Bobo Sofiri Brown, FNIPR, Prof. G.B. Okon- Faculty Dean of Social Sciences Rivers State University and Dr. Uche Mike Chukwuma , FNIPR.
The Discussion unveiled the hidden history of Rivers State. That Rivers State in 1980’s made record by sending indigent students for foreign and diplomatic studies in renown universities of the world.
That what defined Rivers State of the 1900’s was trade and commerce and not even the celebrated crude oil today. Palm oil was holding the economy of Rivers State and even the south East region.

FOR THE SECURITY OF
NIGER DELTA
- Economic Security: This which is the securing of the economy by employing and creating opportunities for the teeming populace of the region as to reduce social vices as to limit the indulgence of youth in crime. The point argues that if youths and people of the region are empowered and employed it will really help and reduce crime in the region.
- Integration of Technology: The discussant opined that if more technology gadget are used by Security Agencies, it will really help to cub the problem of insecurity in the region. Frowned at the old security structures and tactics used by Nigerian military when the world is operating in a contemporary standard of intelligence and information gathering.
The event took the whole of my day but was educative , motivating and worth my time. I said let me share some of knowledge I grabbed today to my follow steemians so we can build a better society together, just the way @focusnow, @curator01, @curator03 and @bright-obias are creating opportunities for youths and people of Nigeria to have means of generating income through writing articles and sharing memories in steemit to earn good money which will not give them only economic security but also remove their interest from social vices as they are always occupied to get stories.
On my way coming back; the traffic jam was much because of an imposed curfew from 7:00pm. I saw this beautiful flower while coming back home - beautiful and attractive. It is called Biden Ferulifolia; yellow in color with an amazing look.
I felt like kissing this flower 🌸 after a timely and interesting round table today 11/05/2021
