I am Blessing from Nigeria. In this question, i will explain what i know about malaria as a Nigerian. Stacticis has it that over 1.5m Nigerians contact malaria every year. It takes up to 2 weeks to treat malaria if detected malaria needs urgent treatment and must be tested before treating it.

Malaria gets into our system through mosquito infected with the Plasmodium parasite bites this reminds me something that one of my friend said one day as i kill mosquito. He said do not kill pregnant mosquito so that their generation will continue. He also said that mosquito food is blood so i should not disturb them.

Another thing I about malaria is that it affects the liver so much that is why so many children change color when having malaria. Also it reduces white blood cells. If you have malaria, your doctor will tell you, after taking this drugs then drink blood medicine

Have you experience some symptons when you had Malaria?

From people experience, the symptoms are, body weakness, fever, cold, headache, nausea, vomiting, feeling of bitterness in the mouth, dizziness, lack of appetite. On my own side, I can't really tell my malaria symptoms since i hardly sick malaria.

Is malaria common in your City or Street?

Malaria is common sickness in my area where you will see people complain of suffering malaria every 2 weeks and if you enter pharmacy. 80% of people there are buying malaria medicine. Sometimes you will come in a family and you will see all the family so sick.why? This sickness called malaria can lead to death, enlargement of spleen when it is not properly treated. Malaria id doing some people copyyyy, yesss. This is because it has almost all sickness symptoms and thus causing confusion. They do not know what to do. This situation is common in my country because people prefer self medication than treatment

Tell us practical ways to prevent the spread of Malaria?

• Always sleep on your treated mosquito net and also do not forget to wash it.

• Do not allow stagnant water to stay around your compound always remove blocked age aroung.

• If possible, let their be mosquito net in all your windows and all outside doors except your sitting room.

• Always put condem oil in any gota around your house or close to your house.

• You can wear long trouser in the evening if you must be outside.

• You can also use mosquito reppeler so that it can help you kill so many.

What drugs have you used to effectively treat malaria?

I could remember that I bought malaria medicine for myself last year April 2021 and it called Amertem soft gel.

This medicine has 6 in a card or 12 in a card but the one i bought the one of 6 card, NGN 1,500 then which is 15 steem equivalent. When it comes to malaria drugs, there are so many of it . They have from 0 age to 6 years. From 6 years to 12 years then for adult. Also they have for aged people that is why it will not be wise yo do self medication when it comes to malaria treatment. Allow the doctor to prescribe medication for you after test. When the drugs are giving to you, do not abuse the drugs. Take it religiously untill you finish it. If you notice any reaction, report to the doctor immediately.
