my breakfast, bread, akpuli tea & honey.

WE WANT TO SEE THE MEAL; BREAKFAST.

Today, the 31:05:2022, I woke up in the morning, by 4:45, had my praise and worship & prayer to God for his uncountable mercies upon my life and family, I also thanked God for his Preservative hand of protection over our country, Nigeria. After which I went outside and swept every where. Including the premises.
Then sat down to think on what to eat for breakfast.

I now decided to take akpuli tea, bread and Honey. I went to the kitchen boil water, came to the parlour and made my tea as you can see in the picture above. It was 9: 00 am , as I was eating it and looked at the wall clock in the parlour. That's my breakfast and I enjoyed it.

How much did it cost in Naira/Steem

  • Akpuli tea is a blood replenishing leave my mother gives us to drink in my family, we usually drink it as tea by just adding milk and honey or sugar. She usually send them to me from the village. It's a very huge tree, boys climb up and pluck the leaves, you dry it at a room temperature, wash it with clean water, boil and drink. So I didn't buy the akpuli tea, my mum sent it to me from the village to my city, Aba.

  • Bread, I bought the small size of #100 = 0.83 steem.

  • One satchet of milk #50 = 0.41 steem.

  • Honey is already at home for family use, I took only 1 spoonful. I may not know how much a spoon will cost both in Naira & Steem.

What Nutrients Does The Food Provide

  • Bread as we already know gives carbohydrate to the body for strength and energy to go through the day.
  • Akpuli tea as I said earlier is a blood replenishing leaves, when you drink it your blood level will increase. Mostly good for those that are anemic. I don't drink it daily, only when I feel like, it doesn't have taste at all but will colour like Lipton tea, after boiling it. Some times I drink it bare, like that, without milk or honey.
That was how my breakfast went on 31:05:2022.

MY LUNCH: RICE & STEW

IMG_20220529_151044_191.jpg
my lunch, rice & stew with some meat.

HOW MUCH IN NAIRA & STEEM

  • I cooked 4 cups of rice. Though I have a bag of rice at home for family use, but though I heard that a cup of rice in Aba market sells at #150 = 1.25 steem. Then 1.25 multiplied by 4cups that I cooked is equals to = 5 steem, in Naira it is #600.
My meat was bought #3,000 = 25 steem.
My tomatoes one tin #300 = 2.5 steem
    Maggie #50 = 0.41 steem.
    Pepper #100= 0.83 steem
    Vegetable oil #200 = 1.66 steem
    Garlic & ginger #100 = 0.83 steem.

WHAT NUTRIENTS DOES THE FOOD PROVIDE

In all, the food and the ingredients provided, protein from the meat, vitamins from the tomato, oil from the vegetable oil, carbohydrate from the rice. I drank water and ate avocado pear as fruit, To me, I had a balanced diet this afternoon.

HOW TO PREPARE ONE OF THE MEALS

  • Step 1:
Put your rice into your pot add water put it on the gas burner for per boiling.
  • Step 2:
Bring it down, bring your sieve add more water to the per boiled rice, use your spetula turn the rice and sieve through your siever, until all of the rice has passed through that system.
    *Step 3:
Then wash the rice with another clean water, put it back into your cooking pot, add water and now boil until it's very soft ready to be eaten.
*Step 4: As it's on fire always check the water level, if it has dried check if you need to add more water or it's enough, don't allow it to get burnt.
*Step 5: Now check it by bitting some to know if it is well cooked before removing it from gas burner.

WHY THE SIEVING PROCESS

In NIGERIA, we eat locally harvested rice, that most times has sand and stone mixed together inside the rice, without this process of sieving, you may end up eating sand & stone, you can not enjoy such meal at all. This is why I first per boil it and sieve it before properly cooking the rice. Just look into the basin from where you sieved the rice into another basin, you will see much sand and stone that would have been in your rice if you hadn't sieved the rice.
After sieving, your rice is very free from sand and stone, the lunch was eaten by 2:45 pm, I just enjoyed the meal!!.

MY DINNER: SAME RICE & STEW

I cooked the rice and stew much. By night the whole family decided to eat again. Since it was remaining, we did not prepare another meal to avoid waste. So we ate same rice and stew, drank enough alkaline water we have and went to bed, happy.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, everything I & my family had eaten on the last day of May, 31 : 05: 2022, had enough nutrients that balanced our bodies for healthy living, remember we have an alkaline water, in my family we are drinking.
I bought the alkaline powder and added it into our drinking water, our water is alkalinized, we are eating healthy meals.

Thanks sis, good morning.

I didn't know it's akpuli you were talking about until you started describing it. We have the tree all around my neighbourhood and my mom usually cook it for our tea anytime we want to use it. Using alkaline water to balance the whole equation😄. You did well ma
