Greetings to you all great steemians and great people. The school term is coming to an end. This is second term, schools are closing for the Easter holidays.
Because from the second week of April, Easter season will be here. So every child suppose or should be with their families at home for Easter enjoyment. As we know, some families may travel for occasions or parents may decide to take the children out to joints, eatries or game villages. Like in Abuja, this is the very time the Abuja game village welcomes and entertains lots of children on daily bases for all sorts of fun.

These are kids in premier nursery and primary school Ogbohill, Aba. As the second term has come to an end, they were doing the end of terms Easter cultural day school closure celebration as usual. At this day, children are dressed in cultural attires of their nativity that's the rule of the day. Every child in school will appear culturally dressed by their parents, just to celebrate different Nigerian cultural backgrounds. This is really catching them young, it's nice of course. I liked what I saw.

purpose of school cultural day

It's emphatically known that our children are our future. Our children are the leaders of tomorrow, our children are our hope for the stability of tomorrow Which is the future. Catching them young will go a long way to preserve our culture, food, history and our cultural investments of the present day, the past and future. Teaching them and allowing them to practice what they have learnt will go a long way preserving both our history, food, dance steps and culture. This is actually the purpose and more of it warranted nurseries, primary and secondary schools doing cultural day celebrations in different schools.

These are children seated and arranged by their respective ages and classes presenting both dance steps, beauty pageant and dramas.
In cultural ways, they have been taught what to do and how to do it.
Parents were not left out, they came in their numbers, seated watching their children and wards performances.

There was also a beauty pageant in which the little girl you are about to see came first out of the four participants. She was decorated in her cultural attires and the badge showing that she was the winner is on her too. It was fun for both the parents, the school authorities and children.

The little Miss Obette who won miss Imo.

During the competition four girls were selected but two performed more among them all as the selection went ahead, two emearged, out of the two one was finally the winner. Due to her boldness and performance, though she looks little but she became the overall winner.
It was a fun filled day, where children, teachers and parents interact together in the same space.
Those children that won in one competition or the other were given some gift items to encourage them for more wins.

Conclusion, it's good to introduce our cultural heritage, history, beliefs to our growing children. They're a generation that would carry on when we become old and tired to do certain things. Thereby sustaining our culture never to die or go in extent.
I commend this school, premier schools for building our children up through our cultural heritage and knowledge of whom they are.

Thanks for taking time to come across my blog.

You need to power up 20 Steem to be in club5050.

You have earned about 39 steem within 3rd March to 3rd April,so you need to power up atleast half of it which is around 20 Steem.
