Good day Steemians, I trust you're having a good time! Today on the diary game, i will be sharing with you how i carried out my Passing out parade from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

INTRODUCTION

---

Passing out parade famously tagged "POP" is the ceremonial event that marks the outgoing of serving Corp Members of the National Youth Service Corps. It's an event marked by handing out of NYSC Certificate to qualified Corp members who have diligently served their fatherland doe the period of one year.

MORNING

---

This took place on the 21st of October, 2021. It was a highly anticipated event which my colleagues have been cheering and talking about for a while.

In the morning of that day i was a bit nervous about how it is going to be but i just trust it to be a good day. There was a misconception of if we were going to put on our National Youth Service Corps uniforms owing to the fact that the director general of the national youth service corps has given a directive that all eastern states serving corps members are not to dress in their uniforms for safety reasons in the eastern part of the country.

After a few calls made, we were able to get an answer from the Zonal Inspector of our Local government Area who instructed us to be dressed in mufty. There was an uproar amongst some of my colleagues who felt it looks sad not to be dressed up in our uniforms in such a ceremonial event.

There was a heavy downpour that morning and I was not in a hurry to get to the local government secretariat for the event, all of my colleagues left me and i took my time to be prepared before i stepped out! I got there at exactly 12:337 PM

AFTERNOON

---

By noon i was at the venue of the passing out parade, Aba South Local government secretariat. The entire compound was filled with faces of joyful Corp members who were looking nicely dressed. I stepped into the hall where the ceremony is taking place.

I was right there on time, headed straight to the desk of the Zonal Inspector who has been expecting me, She is a kind and vibrant soul who pushes everyone on her team to go an extra mile and break free from the mindset of mediocrity and survival. She teased me as she usually does and asked me to sign and hand over my identity card to her as she brought out my NYSC certificate from a envelope and handed it out to me.

What accompanied it was a couple of snapshots with my friends and other Corp members who were overjoyed, expressing their gratitude to God for being kind to them and to have seen them till the end of the service year. I personally posed with all of my friends for so many shots which were coming at a random!

We spent a couple of hours bonding and snapping pictures, exchanging contacts with friends who were traveling far and those we feel we may not see again in the coming days or even years due to how far their states of residence is to some of us.

EVENING

---

By evening i got home and found out that some of my colleagues in the corper's lodge i stay have decided to arrange a small get together party in the compound. Music filled the atmosphere, there were soft drinks and enough food to go round.

It was a joyful evening with so many wonderful memories. I got myself a plate full of noodles and a bottle of chilled sprite before seeing a movie on my laptop and then slept.

so far, i have enjoyed my stay in Aba during my time serving as a Corp Member. I've met a lot of wonderful people and established harmonious relationships with people of distinct character! Also, i have been able to positively impact the lives of the students i taught in the school i was posted to for service!.
