For Promoters: How do you collect new user data for Sign up? A cool form to make it look decent!
We have been actively promoting Steemit, utilizing all avenues and strategies to bring in new users. The Steem road Show has been going great. We hit the streets, talk to people about Steemit and get them to sign up. Most times, we sign them up ourselves. When we need to register a new user and set up their page, we need them to give us some personal data like email, phone number and other things. The Questions is: How do we collect this data? For most of us, we ask the new user to supply those information orally. But there are challenges with this type of data collection method.
New user data is best written down
Some of the challenges that arise when we ask people to tell us a username of choice and other personal information is that there could be errors in spelling. Besides that, written data is usually authentic and cannot easily be forgotten. If there is network challenge during the signup, we need to ask the user to repeat what they said initially. Besides, using oral method to collect new user data does not give a great appearance of a smart promoter. So because of these challenges, there is the need to have a way to collect new user data in written form.
A great form for new user data collection
I have designed a brand new form that will be useful for the collection of new user data before sign up. The design of this form is simple so anyone would find it very easy to fill. I have retained the most important piece of data we need from new users. Here is the form:
Here are a few reasons why this form would be super useful.
- Easy Data Collection: No need of asking too many questions. Just give the form to any interested person to fill and then sign them up.
- Record-keeping: The form will make it easy for promoters to keep track of all their new recruits.
- List-building: Promoters can build a list from the numbers collected using this form. Such list could be useful for future promotional activity.
- Look Organized: When we collect data in written form instead of the oral method, we appear organized and well-coordinated before them. After all, filling a form is a well-known and standard method of data collection.
Conclusion
This form will be so useful for the Steem Road show. We can print out some copies so that new users that want to get registered will be able to do that without much interrogation. I will be printing some copies of the form for use at the Aba center. I will also print few for the cities near Aba. Others can print from this soft copy and use them during promotions.

This is very good and easy as well. But I have one challenge, my challenge is getting the codes sent to them in email and phone number. At times it delays. And when it continues like this, it will be difficult to register someone that is not close to you, like someone from Facebook or Whatsapp.
