Introduction

In Western part of Africa, South-south and south-eastern part of Nigeria were I know too well, the practice of brother fighting a brother over the inheritance of father's property especially when the said father is no more and which sometimes, the fight leads to death of a brother, has become a common practice amongst people from these parts of Nigeria, especially in polygamous families.
The fight for who inherits late father's car, house, estate, land, company etc.

If father can acquire his wealth by himself, why can't we work to acquire our own wealth by ourselves

It very appalling, shameful, barbaric and very questionable act, of why we would have to dwell and hope on establishing our own lives upon that which we would inherit from our father when he dies.
It's a very condemnable act on why we should become lazy and reluctant waiting for the inheritance of wealth which we do not know what it took to acquire it and therefore, will never know what it will take to keep it.

What actually causes the fight

Causes of the fight amongst brothers over father's properties, especially when he is no more are not far fetched.
Below are few causes:

• When a father couldn't write a WILL before
  his death.
• Polygamy.
• Greed.
• Bad influence or wrong advice either by wife
  or friends.
• Display of power, etc.
  

Ways to stop or reduce this common practice

To stop or reduce the practice of a brother fighting his own brother over late father's properties, the best option should be for a father to share his properties amongst his children or write a will while still alive.

Conclusion

As a wealthy father who now has the requisite knowledge on how money works, the knowledge known as "FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE" should endeavour to pass such knowledge to his children.
As a father, stop saying "I've made money and acquire much wealth for my children, what I've acquired will sustain them all through their lives even to their next generation, therefore, they have nothing to worry about, I don't want them to suffer"
. Mind you, they might not only live to suffer but start killing themselves immediately when you're gone.
Teach them the business and establish them.
The greatest advantage of it is that, there would be hunger for self money-making and there will be little or no need fighting for father's properties hence one can buy whatever thing he desires for himself with his own money.
