How to use what3words simplified.

Introduction

I know many people might already know how to use the what3words app to get specific locations, but there are still those who do not know about it or how to use it. Hence this post is of their benefit.

What is what3words

What3words is an application meant for the sole purpose of getting the precise location coordinates of an area. It makes use of geocodes (-that is a unique 3 words to identify any location)

A geocode refers to codes that represent a geographic location, it is unique and distinguishes it from other entities.

Now we know what what3words is an what it does, we can proceed to how to use it.

How to use the what3words

Before you can use the what3words application you have to first have it on your device, for this you either go to your playstore (-for android) and AppStore (-for iOS).

After getting the application follow these steps below;

Step 1

first and foremost make sure your location is turned on, if you don’t know how to do this just open the app and click on the location icon as shown in the image below. Also ensure your mobile data is turned on as the app works with data, otherwise it is a free app.

Step 2

If your location is on, and you click on the location icon, you get your location instantly in geocode for (-that is the 3unique word)

Finish

Step 3 (-To get the image of your location)

To do this, you click on the circle shaped image icon just below the location icon as shown in the image below, and you would have the picture view.

Bonus

You can also share and save favorite locations and access them later. For instance you want to do a #mytownintenpics , #businessreview or any thing where you need to put a location, you simply click the save option. While saving any location you can add a label for easy verification later on.
