It is a great privilege and honour given to me to be part of this wonderful community of SteemAlive. This week has been a very tremendous week for all of us with a big opportunity to dig down deep into our individual profiles, it was truly great. I want to use this medium to say a big thank you to all those behind the scene working tirelessly in preparation for weekly activities to make sure that quality Contest are ready on time - @SteemAlive, @focusnow, @bright-obias, @ngoenyi, @talktofaith plus many more. I would not go without thanking my sweet sister and mentor in this business @meymeyshops for showing the way. Thumb up to you all.

Let me write a bit about our health because if we do not take good care of it, our brain will die before our flesh. Brain cells are one of the most sensitive part of the human body that when they die, it becomes very difficult to revive it back. To support our brain function properly, lets add to our diet the listed foods below. Try as much as you can on a weekly basis to take at least 2 out of them if not all.

BRAIN HEALTH RICH FOODS

The most known brain rich foods includes: Eggs, Fatty fish, Fruits, Vegetables, Tea/coffee, Nuts, and Pumpkin seeds.

VEGETABLES

Greens vegetables like Kale, Spinach, Collards, and broccoli contains a rich source of Vitamin K, Folate, Beta Carotene, Lutein etc. These helps slow down cognitive decline and boost brain power. Personally I add few fresh leaves of Spinach to my Rice and Yam source. I prefer eating it uncooked.

EGG

Egg contains a good rich source of Choline found in the yolk and reduces inflammation thereby promoting brain function so each cell can communicate properly to maintain retentive memory.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS (EFA)

Fatty Fish contains EFA (Essential Fatty Acids) like Omega 3 and Omega 6. The human body needs EFAs to manufacture and repair cell membranes, so the cells can obtain optimum nutrition and expel harmful waste products. Essential Fatty Acids are also needed for proper growth in children, particularly for neural (brain) development and maturation of sensory systems.

PUMPKIN SEEDS

Pumpkin seeds are an excellent source of magnesium, zinc, copper and iron, all of which are important minerals for brain health. Magnesium is required to maintain a healthy brain and nervous system. Magnesium acts as a relay signal between the brain and the body. It also serves to keep the brain nerve cells healthy thereby promoting learning ability and memory.

NUTS

In the Nuts family, Walnut is the top brain rich health food. Do you know that Walnut shape resembles that of the brain? It’s significant high concentration of DHA, a type of Omega 3 Fatty Acid protects healthy brain for infants, improve cognition in adults and prevents Alzheimer’s disease.

FRUITS

Died fruits contains Fiber, potassium, copper etc more than fresh fruits hence it helps heal damaged brain cells. We have Dates, Raisins, Apricots and Prunes in these category.

COFFEE

Coffee is added among the list because it boost mental alertness and mood as it contains caffeine and antioxidants. Our brain can benefit positively from the caffeine contained in coffee as it keeps the brain alert and active to perform your daily duties.

CONCLUSION

Take good care of your brain today for it to care for you as you age gracefully. This is the only organ that aids in mental activities. You can only write good articles if your proof of brain power is at high level.
