Hello steemians,
I am glad to present to you all my 07th entry of this week prowriters hub challenge and in this article I will be emphasizing on the 05th topic which is
Family inheritance - How to handle it and protect future generations?
How family inheritance are being shared in my culture
Inheritance is just like a process where by material things are being passed from generation to generation after the departure of the older generation.
Every community has there own ways of sharing there father's property but here in my town if there is no father's will the decision on how the property should be divided by the head of the family which is the First Son.
The first son shares the properties to everyone according to seniority except the female children who don't receive a dime because they have/will join another family and the first son takes highest.
In a polygamous family where there are more than one first the properties still shared by the eldest but in this case all first sons receives there own share first before any other person
There are different challenges in sharing family inheritance especially when the father who is the owner of the properties is not there and he didn't write a will on how his properties should be divided and below are some of the challenges:
Wedlock marriage/Age: in my town especially in polygamous family age is a barrier in sharing of property in the sense that the first wife child is born out of wedlock and the husband proceed to Marry another wife legally and give birth, in this assent the man and he fails to will his property, the first son that was born out of wedlock will want the higher portion of the property but for the fact that the mother was not legally married he will be denied of the right then the first child of the second mother will be entitled to share and take higher portion of the property and that will cause a serious problem because the one born out of wedlock is older the the one that was legally born
Sex: In my town the female children are denied of the property but they still will want to inherit from the property and the will not allow them to do take there share and even if they are considered they will still be giving little portion even if they are older than the males which will cause a very serious problem
These problems must occur in sharing an inheritance when the owner of the property is no longer there. These problems can only be stopped by the owner of the property only if he made a Will and back it up with a trusted lawyer before he dies and if he don't have enough money to do that he should should share his property while he is still alive
Here in my community people usually respect father's will but when the will does not favor the greedy once especially the first son of the family they might end up dis-respecting the father's will and if others disagree with him they might end up fighting and might even bring about death.
In my family we haven't discussed anything about sharing of family inheritance and I have experienced sharing inheritance but that was while I was a child so I can't remember anything that happened
Conclusion
Family inheritance has helped so many people and is also one of the reasons why brothers rise against there fellow brother. But the father should take precautions before he dies so as to avoid some family issues amongst family members because he is the only one that can do that.

There must be problem if the owner of the house did not make proper arrangements when he was alive or he favour some of his children than others. When he is no more those he favoured will surffer in the hand of others. The family will divide into 2.
