Introduction

Due to barrenness, poverty, economic instability and limited resources the rate of Adoption is increasing. Barren parents adopt children in other to keep there marriage,feel the parental vibes, replace there only child that is late etc.
Some persons will ask what is Adoption? you can continue reading to know more about Adoption

Adoption

---

Adoption is a legal procedure where by a person adopts another person's child, train them and take them as there own and making them the non-biological parents of the child. At times the adopted child is usually an orphan and a person.

The main issues an adopted child faces

---

• Identity and self-esteem:Adopted children who have less information about their biological parents finds it so difficult in the identity development.

• School challenges: Many adopted children are denied the right to go to school to study and meet new friends. People who adopt them finds it very difficult to give adopted children a proper/quality education.

• Adaption and Rejection: Adoptees who where Adopted at an older age finds it so difficult to adapt to there new parents and home. They will always seek to go back to their biological parents. So children finds it difficult to adapt because they feel rejected by there new family members.

• Loss and separation: Some Adopted children always look unhappy because they feel that they have loss their birth family, siblings etc

Legal implications for Adoption

• All the rights are should be transferred totally to the adopting parents

• Adoptees is giving the right to inherit from the adopting parents

• The adopting parents would carry our all the parental duties and obligation of the Adoptees.

• All right must be giving to the Adoptees like right of education etc

• In no account should the Adoptees go back to their biological parents even after the death of the adopting parents if adoption is legally conducted

General view/my view of adoption

People in my community especially the old and uneducated once views adoption as a sin and an illegal activity. If parents in my community is barren and ends up adopting a child they will be so ashamed of showing up in the community,Infact even their parents inlaw will start generating hatred for the family. If the biological parents of the adoptee is caught in that process he/she might be beaten.

I view adoption as a nice and legal something that help barren families to get themselves a child and have a parental responsibility and feelings. Adoption also helps the family so that the husband will not get a second wife that will come into the family to cause problems between the husband and the first wife

How to handle Adoption challenges

• During Adoption the Adoption procedure should fully be adhered to

• The adopting parents should build a parental relationship with the adoptee

• The adopting parents should make the child feel comfortable just like his/her home

• Before adopting a child make sure you know the history of the adoptee so you can answer any question when it arises.

Conclusion

Adoption is legal and helpful, Adoption is the reason why some couples are still married and living happily,it is because of Adoption that some family generation are still in existence.
I will appreciate the government who has made Adoption legal with some rules to guide it.
