Inorder to walk around and see objects in the dark, so that we don't trip or strike our foot against objects. I invite you to read along as we discuss one of the main inventions of man. The ELECTIC BULB
Today we are going to talk about four major factors about electric bulb.

• Brief history about the invention - the inventor, in what year and place it was invented, any experiments in the process of invention
• What was life like before the invention? How life changed as a result of the invention
• Any changes, upgrades or modifications over the years to this invention?
• Any negative effects of this invention to the environment or life as a whole, etc.

Factor 1

Brief history about the invention - the inventor, in what year and place it was invented, any experiments in the process of invention

The invention of electric light dated way back to the early 19th century, and it can't be attributed to one inventor. First In 1806, Englishman Humphrey Davy presented his work on electric bulb. Since then other inventors have been working on improving the invention. We have other inventors like Fredrick DeMoleyns in 1841. The American J.W Starr in 1845, worked on electric light. Then in 1880 came the popular and widely known Thomas Edison, hired other Princeton University Physicist Francis Upton to his team. Actually there were more than 20 inventors. But the American Thomas Edison did not invent electric light. The experiment started with the Englishman Humphrey Davy, the only experimental challenge is that his light bulb burned out quickly and that caused other inventors to get to work of improving on it.

Factor 2

What was life like before the invention? How life changed as a result of the invention.

We all rejoice when the light shines in a dark place. Before the invention of electric bulb, homes were lit by open fire placed, thereby making the room temperature uncomfortably warm, the walls are also stained by the smoke from these naked fire.
The invention of electric bulb has reduced the uncomfortable room temperatures and also made it possible to light up the roads and beautifies houses with electric bulb.

Factor 3

Any changes, upgrades or modifications over the years to this invention?

There have been lots of modifications since the invention, too many to mention but let us mention but a few.

• [1] Different colours of electric bulb.
• [2] Energy saving electric bulb.
• [3]PIN and SCREW head.
• [4] Low heat emission.

Lately we have different colors of electric bulb: florescent, blue, green, red light, just to mention a few, these days light can also be customized according to choice.

Energy saving electric bulb can light up regardless of electricity voltage.

Before it use to be just one type of electric bulb head. But now we can choose between PIN or SCREW head. Just make sure you know the type of your lamp holder.

Electric bulb these days does not heat up, unlike before, where one can be feeling the heat coming out from electric bulb.

Factor 4

Any negative effects of this invention to the environment or life as a whole, etc.

The type of electric bulb called "Light-emitting diode" [LED] can cause itching, redness of the eye and mild headache. The gas in the bulbs can also be irritating, if broken.
