INTRODUCTION
Good day to my fellow friends steemians in @steemalive, you're welcome to my blog today, hope you guys are doing fine.
My write up today is about drug abuse which is one of the topic given by @steemalive in ProWritingHub week #4 contest
Drug abuse is a world wide case which a lot of people are engaging themselves in especially the youth of nowadays, they think abusing drug and getting high is a way of showing thatvthey are tough and strong, which is wrong.
MEANING OF DRUG ABUSE
DRUG ABUSE: These is the process of an individual taking any drugs more than what the doctor prescribes for him or her, which can react negatively and may cause harm to the person health.
Drug abuse can also be defined as the process where an individual swallow or take in any hard drugs, for example cocaine, heroin etc.
WAYS I'VE OBSERVE PEOPLE ABUSING DRUGS
Likevi said in my introduction, drug abuse is a world wide problem.
From what i have been seeing the case of drug abuse is now common everywhere, even in my community, the youth both boys an girls are engaging themselves in drug abuse without thinking of what the side effects will be.
REASON WHY DRUG ABUSE IS COMMON
Below are the few reasons why drug abuse is common;
PEER PRESSURE: Sometimes people are being pressured into abusing drugs by their friends
DEPRESSION: A lot of people like to temporarily treat depression by abusing a drug or drinking of alcohol
SELF MEDICATING: This is one of the reason people abuse drugs, cause there buy and take drugs on their own without going to the hospital for a doctor to prescribe for them
EFFECTS OF DRUG ABUSE
Drug abuse is dangerous and it affects the body negatively, below are the few dangerous effects of drug abuse;
It causes lungs disease
Seizures
Brain damage
Stroke
Abdominal pains, etc.
WAYS TO PREVENT OR ELIMINATE DRUG ABUSE
By keeping track of prescription drugs
Avoiding bad company
By avoiding peer pressure
By seeking out for help
Minimizing their exposure to hard drugs
ABOUT DRUG ABUSE
Drug abuse as we all know is a very dangerous act, which is not good to the health and it's common with the youth especially 17-25 years of age.
CONCLUSION
I think that parents should do their best in helping their children in preventing them from abusing drugs, and also to monitor the kind of friends they keep, cause most of these drug abuse is cause by peer pressure.

Drugs abuse is not good but is like is turning the society in to animal life style mostly men and is very bad.
Yes drug abuse usually affects much on those who are not up to the age of 18 as it is good for parents to teach their children more about the health effects of this drug abuse.

Peer pressure should be avoided by all means. Some times when we do what things because our friends are doing it, we might become excape goat.

Depression, as you have mentioned, can lead to drug abuse. When facing some challenges, most people end up misusing or taking some drugs excessively.

I appreciate your markdown styles. You have clearly explained drug abuse and its dangers. Self medication is indeed a form of drug abuse, and most of us are guilty of it. Taking hard drugs is very bad to our health and behaviour.
