As we are on way to dig deep into the core of poloniex to unsheathe information. Today i will be sharing with you part of privacy policy of poloniex related to different information that we share with poloniex and also the information that they collect and store without our consent. Let's analyze how many of us knew about it.

Broadly classifying, poloniex collect two sets of data - one is Personal Data and other Anonymous Data.

“Personal Data” is something that is related to user and shared voluntarily with poloniex by user at various points of time. It includes data like email which we share at the time of signing up . Also as we ascend the trading ladder, we share our name, phone number and location , date of birth, government issued identification, tax ID, identity information, photograph etc. Other data that we may have shared, if we had tried to contact customer service or send feedback is also collected.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, different steps of trading ladder. As we dig deep, we share more of our details and get more benefits in turn . Next in trading ladder is poloniex plus with two tiers, plus gold and plus silver and later at the top is Market Maker Programe . Mostly, these VIP steps are accessed by institutions and crypto professionals . So they further share data like company name, address etc.

Least but not last is the data recorded on blockchain while trading like deposit and withdrawl transectiom details.

This is the information that most of us are not aware of unless we have professional background like software engeeniering etc. For most of us, it is anonomyously collected and stored by servers. It never means that this information is being misused. It is just to emphasise.

Poloniiex servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) collect information like browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address , domain name, and/or a date/time and information collected via cookies . Also data shared by third party services such as sanctions screening services and other organizations is colleted anonymously.

The personnel data that we share at different trading levels is used by poloniex to serve us better which may range from account creation to Market Maker programme . One important thing to note down is that, our information can be shared without our consent only in case LAW demands so. Data collected automatically is used to improve poloniex services like IP adress to make site better for users, location to track user base etc

It is a sort of coded data that has been created by removing identifiable data from our shared data with poloniex. As a result, our data becomes unidentifable to us. But this data is of use to the network and they claim that they reserve every right to share this aggregated and deidentified data to any third party without our consent.
