Introduction

Greetings everyone. Am super glad to be here again to write on this platform. Today 28-4-2022 i will be writing on the causes of broken marriage and how it can be fixed.

Before i proceed, i will like to explain meaning of marriage and its types.

Marriage is a legally union between a man and woman that is regulated by law, rules,customs,beliefs and attitude that prescribe the rights and duties of the partners and accords status to their children. Source It is called matrimony or wedlock

Type of marriage

Civil marriage
&
Religious marriage

Civil marriage: is a marriage reformed, recorded and recognised by government official. Such may be performed by a religious body and recognized by the state or it may be entirely circular. Source

While

Religious marriage: is a solemn and public covenant between a man and woman in the presence of God.

NOTE: Whether marriage is done a civil method or religious method, as far as the bride price has been paid, the deed is done.

Now, lets see why some marriages break despite long or short term relationship.

Causes of broken marriages

*Lack of commitment
*Infidelity
*Lack of sex

Lack of commitment: This lead to downfall in marriage. It makes one of both parties drift away and takes each other for granted.

Infidelity: It causes heartbreak and devastation, loneliness, feeling of betrayal and confusion to one or both spouses in a marriage.

Dear marriage mates, please be faithful to your partner.

Lack of sex: It is true that sex is not the defining factor in marriage happiness, but when it is also missing in marriage, it can lead to serious problem like anger,infidelity, communication break down, lack of self esteem and isolation. All these mentioned lead to irreparable damage to the relationship.

please marriage mate, do not deny yourself sex. Remember the admonition in 1corinthians 7:3-5 which reads in part "let the husband give to his wife her due and let the wife do likewise to her husband. Do not deprive each other except by mutual concept in order that setan may not keep tempting you for your lack of self control".

Other causes of broken marriages includes;
*Keeping secrete
*Financial problem
*Lack of trust etc

Again, it is possible to repair a marriage or married life that has already suffered severe damages, but this require both side work and commitment to repair a broken marriage effectively.
Lets see how i could be done.

How a broken marriage can be fixed

*Take a good look at yourself
*Take responsibility of your actions
*Be honest with yourself and your spouse
*Have a talk
*Let each partner explains his/her own perception of the problem
*Just listen
*Make a list of the things both of you want tk change.

Apart from this small counsel, applying most especially bible counsel recorded at colosians 3:13-14 can help your marriage not to collapse in the first place.

That mentioned scripture reads "continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely, even if one has a cause of complains against another just as jehovah forgave you, you must do the same. But beside all these things, cloth yourselves with love for it is a perfect bond of union".

Conclusion

No marriage is perfect because the union is made of two imperfect humans, therefore develop the spirit of tolerance if you want to pull through.
