INTRODUCTION

It is good to be part of this contest to show case my culture and my traditional heritage. Thanks to @uzoma24 for the contest. Sit tight and feel relaxed as I showcase my culture and tradition via my blog.

DEFINITIONS OF TERMS

TRADITION: Is a particular group of people who share the same ethnic beliefs and behaviors, that from generation to generation will continue to up hold that and they also pass it to their young ones.
CULTURE: Is a shared characteristics by some group of people who learned that character through generational nums, values and history.

THE NAME OF MY PLACE

The name of my home town is ARUM TUMARA, in Farin Ruwa Development Area of WAMBA Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The geonology of this ethnic culture started way back from 16th century, their Heritage is from Plateau State, as they share borders and boundaries.

THE NAME OF MY CULTURE AND TRADITION

The name of my culture is ARUM, while the name of my tradition is AMGBLA.

THE PERIOD OF TIME OF THE YEAR IT HOLDS

ARUM AMGBLA is a quarterly event, which the entire ARUM people usually gathered at it's head quarters at ARUM SARKI to remind it's ward of the history and tradition of the ARUM people nation wide.

ITS DURATION OF TIME ( HOW LONG DOES IT LASTS)

The event only last or takes a whole day for it's cultural display, people of Arum from far and near do normally attend this event to see for themselves how the culture and tradition is been displayed.

TARGETED AUDIENCE ( WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS CULTURE? ARE VISITORS ALLOWED?)

The cultural display is been showcased or participated by some selected Arum people themselves, the national body, ARUM CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (ACDA) is shouldered with the responsibility for organizing this event, as the people where selected from each Arum Village, we have seven (7) Arum Villages: Arum Sarki, (been the head quarters), Arum Chini, Arum Chugbo, Arum Shua, Arum Tumara, Arum Kado, Arum Gbumanga. The selection is done randomly according to these villages. Days are fixed for their training and on the Dee day, Cultural performances and display (dances) in their colorful Cultural attire takes place.

VISITORS

Visitors do attend, especially visitors from other tribes, Rindre, in wamba LGC, including their king (amir) HRH. Oriye Rindre, and other Paramount Chiefs within and neighboring states: Kaduna, Plateau, Benue and other states do attend this historic event.

TRADITIONAL FOOD

ARUM people are well known by their kind of traditional food, Doso garnished with meat. It is their traditional delicacy that an Arum man likes so well.

CONCLUSION

THis is just a summary of my culture and tradition. Arum people are known for their hospitality and accommodating spirit. They are a minority tribe in Nasarawa State, they are been marginalized for been minute, however, they are known for what they are. Hospitable and accommodating as I said earlier.
