Greeting wonderful people of steemit. It is a pleasure to return to ProWriters hub week 3. Well, This is my first entry. In today's topic I will be writing about how modern technology transformed healthcare.
Technology is simply defined as the industrial use of scientific knowledge for practical purpose. Technology has taken over the world. Scientific knowledge is used in almost all sectors of life, it indeed makes life easier.
Technology in the Health care sector can not be neglected because, with technology our health care system has so much improved. Starting from diagnosis of a patient to treatment, technology is being used.
In this article today, I will carefully enumerate how technology has transformed our health care.
How people take care of their Health before the invention of technology
Before the invention of technology, people rely on the use of herbs for the treatment of any kind of ailment. Herbalist diagnose an illness according to signs and symptoms described by the patient. There was nothing like medical test then. I would say the treatment by herbs are usually effective because, some of this herbs are multipurpose. Again not only one herb is used for treatment. Various varieties of herbs are combined for treatment of a particular ailment. So, even if a wrong diagnosis is made the combination of herbs which is multipurpose can be effective for the illness.
How technology improved Life and reduced mortality rate
Technology is an eye opener, it has brought so much improvement in our life. The rate of death as a result of illness has drastically reduced because there are facilities available to detect such illnesses at the early stage.
Malaria is the most purpose sickness, death rate as a result of malaria was very high back in the days, but lately it can easily by diagnosed in the Laboratory and there are so many antimalarial drugs that can cure and prevent malaria there by reducing mortality rate.
Death of women during childbirth has reduced because there are so many equipments that can be used to scan a woman's body, to detect the position of a child in the womb. The use of cessearan section for delivery has also made delivery easy for some women .
Illnesses such as Epilepsy and poliomyelitis that claimed lots of children's life is almost eradicated because every child is immunized against such illnesses.
Recently, you do not even need to visit a hospital to consult a doctor. You can consult a doctor right in your house using your smartphone. All of these are made possible as a result of technology.
Functions of some Health technological equipments
Stethoscope: Stethoscope is a medical instrument used by doctors to listen to sound made by the heart, Lungs and intestines. It is Y shaped. And it consist of three main parts, the ear piece, the tube and the chest piece. The ear piece is placed in the ear to listen to the beat of the body. The chest piece is round in shape place on the skin. It consist of the diaphragm and the bell.
Microscope: It is an instrument used to view those microorganisms that can not be seen with our naked eyes. It it mostly used by medical scientists or technicians to examine a patient's sample. Then they recorded what they saw. Most of this ailments are caused by microorganisms and this microorganisms cannot not be seen with our eyes.hence the need to perform microscopy.
Blood pressure apparatus: The instrument used to determine the blood pressure is known as sphygmomanometer. It is used by doctors, Nurses and individuals to check the blood pleasure. It is adviced that everyone should have sphygmomanometer in there homes.
My experience when I visited a health diagnostic Laboratory
I have actually visited a medical laboratory a couple of times. The last medical Laboratory I visited was step 1 medical lab. Then I was very sick. I was always having night fever and constant headache. Normal, I thought it was malaria so I bought malaria drug over the counter. After taking the drugs, i was still sick. Then I decided to run a medical test. When I got to the lab, I explained to the lab scientist was I was going through and the symptoms I was having.
Then she wrote out a few text for me, and took my blood sample. After the test I got almost all the medical test I did that day. And I started my treatment immediately. After three day, I got my self and because strong again.
Conclusion
Technology has helped improved the health sector, I just wish the government will make health care accessible to the common man. Thank you for coming through my post

Yes dear, technology has really improved health by creating so many machines like you just said in your post,it has reduced the death of pregnant women and unborn baby by providing machines that can help a woman to give birth to her child with no stress.

Technology has done so many things possible in the healthcare, with the help of technology two persons a man and a woman can now make babies without having sex
Technology has come to stay and I support its stay, the use of life support machine which provides oxygen to I'll patients has save lots of lives
Technology is eye opener, it improves our daily life. Keep it up.
Truly technology has really helped the health sector. I was just imagining how they will be doing with out all this technological devices.
Technology becomes the basic need every field of life and in a every humans live but the role of Technology in healthcare is also important you did your work very well stay blessed
