"This year I must get married whether Satan likes it or not. My own is not different". Her name is Adanne. She was beautiful. She was easily noticeable because of her beauty.

She is a fresh student of Public Administration in PKU University. She was 25 years of age and desperate to marry and enjoy life.
"Freshers also marry or get hooked up". She said to herself. "If I attend the university and get my degree certificate my dream husband that will be great" She pursued her dreams relentlessly. Everything seemed fine. Her school carreer was sailing smoothly. All her lives expectations loomed large. Good husband, job prospect, cars, good life and all the rest of them were within reach and yet she was just beginning her first year in school. Unknown to her Lucifer was trailing her.

It was at the prima causa, the reception program for the freshers that temptation came the first time. Lucifer used Ochuko to entice her.
On that day, she sat few seats away from the main entrance enjoying the soft serenade in the reception. From her vantage position she saw Ochuko stepping into the hall. She was gorgeously dressed. She had carriage. Adanne was captivated instantly. She wished to be like her". I like her dressing." She murmured to herself. " It makes sense"
As Ochuko came close her, Adanne began to work out how she will engage her. Luckily, Ochuko took the vacant seat next to her .
Hi! Adanne greeted her.
Hi! Ochuko responded. A shot smile followed and both looked away. Inside of them something has happened and each awaited for opportunity to get familiar.

And the occasion continued with the introduction of the people that were seated on the hightable. The Dean of the faculty spoke eloquently advising the new intakes to take their studies seriously.
There were a lot to eat and drink and they indeed ate and drank a lot and the music played on. It was the perfect time for Adanne to interact with Ochuko . She inched closer to her.
"I am Adanne", she introduced herself."what about you '
"Am Ochuko". Ochuko replied. "Am glad to meet you ". "Thank you" Ochuko said. They exchanged their phone and Room numbers.
After the occasion Adanne was so happy. She has met a high class girl. She seemed to be someone she will learn a lot from.
They became the best of friends. They stuck to each other like siemese twins. You cannot see one without the other.it was only in the night that each went to her room. Adanne seriously wanted to be like her but she did not know what Ochuko does to maintain her lifestyle on campus.

On one bright Friday morning Adanne's phone rang. It was Ochuko. She was already awake but not ready to get up from bed as there was no lecture on Fridays.
"Hello!" She picked the call.
"Baby am sure you are still on bed. Bad daughter of a good womb". Ochuko joked.
Adanne giggled.
"Bad girl". She responded.
Adanne's thought ran wild. Ochuko has just shown her the way.

She has gotten comfortable with Lucky since Ochuko brought them together. Lucky had appeared so good. He has been taking good care of her. She lacks nothing. Unlike home she has been having a swell time. There is no dull moment with him.
"Are you available today?" Ochuko enquired.
"What's up?"she asked.
The usual weekend stuff.
"Bae, you are the badest stuff around. You are rotten oo ".
"Don't mind me " Ochuko said. "I am bad but I showed you the way". So I de follow who know road,abi?", "Yes naa" Ochuko replied. "Abi o. You are good sha". Adanne retorted.

Ochuko arranged a trip to Warri with Adanne. "Make we go Hussle", she said. "Weekend no go just go like that".
They had a little problem to clear and that is what to tell Lucky. "What do we tell Lucky? Adanne querried. Ochuko told her not to mind. " I will fix it".

Adanne who was determined to improve her life and chances to get married at 25 waded deep into the wrong side of life.
She took to fast lane. She junketted from city to city with men.
When they came back from the trip to Warri, the examination time table was out. It was published before their return. Adanne and Ochuko were not prepared for the examination.
On the first examination day, Adanne expressed her worries about the examination. Ochuko assured her of help from her male lecturers She has contact in the faculty. At the end this also failed her but when the results were published both of them failed woefully.
Adanne cried bitterly. She travelled with Lucky to Togo where they spent a week. IThat gave her the relief she desperately needed. It was a week full of fun. After the trip Lucky proposed marriage to Adanne
not knowing that he had other evil ideas and she accepted. Adanne informed her people. Without waiting to formalize the marriage she moved in with him even though no one from his family knew him yet.

Lucky to the knowledge of Ochuko was a yahoo boy: an internet fraudster. His success hung on fetish practices. One famous priest Babalawo whom he calls Baba was the one who does rituals for him.
Following the increasing security activities, yahoo business, to the knowledge of Ochuko, was falling into bad times and Lucky needed to act to put things right. He consulted Baba. He is needed to conduct rituals.The blood was needed for the ritual. Only the blood of his wife or mother is required. " I have no wife and my mother is dead", he told Babalawo .
"But you are engaged", he asked. "Yes" said Babalawo. " Her blood will do". Lucky's heart flinched inwardly. He became worried . He wondered why it must be Adanne.
He had discussions with Ochuko on the issue and Ochuko advised him to use her and he accepted. "After her doesn't know me," he reassured himself.
Things happened fast. Lucky fixed the D day to be on his birthday. His birthday was just a week away. He wanted her killing done perfectly. To make her feel belonged, he involved her in the preparations for the birthday party. He bought her dresses for the party and treated her fine over the period.
On the D day there were a lot to eat and drink. Invitees filled every corner of the sitting room eating and drinking. Adanne was gorgeously dressed. She danced with Lucky and both received loud ovation. To her things seemed to be working out fine.

At the far corner sat Baba. His mission had been rehearsed and must be executed clinically. He was dressed in simple a white jumper. Adanne, unaware of the danger that was lurking served him lavishly not knowing she would soon be his victim. When guests began to leave, Lucky joined Baba at the far corner and they drank and discussed in low tones and Baba gave him something. Adanne did not pay attention. In a matter of minutes she will be dead.

Lucky struck when Adanne was about to go to bed. He asked for more drink which Adanne brought. He asked her to share the drink with him. He opened it poured her some. To please him she sipped a little and ran off to the kitchen to go bring him chewables. By the time she returned her drink had been laced with drug. she came back and resumed her seat at the table as they drank together. In a matter of minutes she became dizzy. She got up into the bedroom and slept off. The long awaited moment came for Baba to do his work. She was carried to the bathroom where they finished her off, drained her blood and sliced off sensitive parts of her body, dismembered the rest, parked them in suitcases, put the suitcases in the boot of Lucky's car and drove off to the river to throw them into the water. It was there that nemesis caught up with them. All that glitters is not gold. They were arrested by the police.
This story has illustrated the results of not being thoughtful before one takes certain steps. If Adanne taken time to study the school environment she would have been able to make better friends. He would not have died the way she did. Me must look before we leap.
