THE MOB AND ITS MENACE||THE CITADEL OF MOB ACTION

The typical Nigerian Society presents all human variables-a society where everything goes,a society where double standard is the norm where wealth and poverty exit side by side, peace and hate share same mind, where stop can mean go and go come.

A society where there is no problem often means there are many problems.
This Nigerian Society have rubished all the world's acclaimed theories making them unworkable , and has encapsulated in what is often refered to as the Nigerian factor .

This theory is yet to fully be explained nor even understood.Anthropologists and great sociologists would yet find in our make-up what elements that controls this factor in every and only Nigerians .Or how can we explain it that great investors and administrators could not replicate their achievements within the shores of this country?

An effort to mirror or even highlight all these are not easy at that but tackling this octopus from this angle goes someway .The MOB -a prominent part of our society mirrors us the way we are.They hold the ace for peace and war in any society.Peace and order can be disrupted by the activities of this group . They are usually ready tool in the hands of politicians.

The Mob

In the past even students could embark on a peaceful rally or protest on a minor disagreement with the management within the school premises . Issues as Food arriving late can spark such protests and are often controlled by the school authority.

But not anymore as non students are brought in and even weopons are introduced wherein violence ,arson and wanton destruction of properties and looting of same .No wander the authorities do not look with sympathy any arrested in any mass actions.

A typical example is whenever a "thief" is caught ,everyone 'coperates 'in achieving the goal of beating and in some cases burning the suspect . Once a man returning from work provided the petrol with which "a phone-snatcher" suspect was burnt to death only to find out later it was his kid brother whom he knew so well was not a thief and cared less about phone. He was only caught up in the spirit of the moment.

This "Air" is so infectious that one is acting before reason.But the river cannot drown a person whose leg it did not see ,so beware of all crowd.
