It is my pleasure to participate in this contest of show casing my City Garage Parks. In Lagos state where I reside, they are so many Parks and Garages both big and small. I want you to follow me along as I show you some of the pictures I was able to capture herein. But before I go on, I want to know how you are doing at this time, as we have a weather change already in Nigeria, how is your area? Is it too cold? Never mind, read along with me.

My first Garage is the one at the popular Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State called Iyana Iba Garage. This Park is one of the most popular one in this area and it is from here that travellers to Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, Badagry, Seme Border, Ikeja, CMS, Iyana Ipaja, Mile 2, Orile, Agbara, Oko-Afo etc. board their buses. It is a very big garage but now due to the road construction going on in Lagos State presently, they have been moved to a smaller location. This is causing a lot of heavy traffic for travellers and people around the area. The type of vehicles available here are mostly Keke Tricyle, 18 seater buses, Okada. Their transport fares ranges from N100.00 to N800.00 within the city. Those travelling outside to other states pay from N1500.00 and above.

In this Garage (motor park), there is a very big market for various goods ranging from food stuffs, clothings, electronics and household items.

Iyana Isashi Garage motor park is along the road going towards Badagry. At this Park there is not enough space for big vehicles like lorries and buses to park. You can only see a line up of Tricyles (Keke Marwa) along the roadside coming out from their garage because of the size, there is not enough parking space for them. Passengers join the vehicles along the road as the drivers takes their turn. At the entrance of the Garage are hawkers of different goods especially those selling phone jackets and accessories. There are also smaller kioks and umbrellars used by the marketers to sell their goods. Traffic Policemen are always on duty here to maintain order so as to avoid heavy build-up of traffics.

There is also Okada riders here waiting at their Park to transport passengers who may need their ride. I usually patronise them each time am this area.

OKOKO GARAGE MOTOR PARK

Okokomaiko is one of the popular road side Park. Unfortunately for the Park operators, the road construction going on in Lagos State affected them as part of their Garage was taken for the road construction. This made them to have about 4 different smaller parks around the Okokomaiko Bus stop. From the above picture you can see Okada Park, Bus Park and Keke park all at different angles of the road. Passengers board the buses or keke depending on the route they are going. Their charges are from N100.00 to N500.00. Motorist from here goes to Mile 2, Ajangbadi, Shibiri, Igboelerin, Alabarago, etc.

There is also a very big market here despite they are not having a good shop because of the road work going on but the market women here are relentless as they use Umbrellars to take shed from the sun. Hawkers of different goods are all over the place.

ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET PARKS

Alaba International is the biggest market in Lagos State. There are various businesses going on here. But one of the major problems they have is parking space. There is no known unified Garage rather each zone has a Parking space in front of their Zone along the road side. This is causing heavy traffic on a daily basis as people park their vehicles there and pay Park operators to watch over their cars. They can pay between N300.00 to N500.00 depending on how long you will stay inside the market.

Truck pushers are very common here because they help the traders and buyers to convey their goods to the parking place of their vehicles.

I also went to Mbanefo transport company's Car Park. This is a popular company that convey travelers to the eastern part of Nigeria. I inquired of their charges now that there is Seasonal travelers and their fare has increased. Now traveling from Lagos to Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Owerri, or Aba costs N11,000 as against N9,000.00. Their fares increases day by day as the Christmas day approaches.

The Okada's here in this park are waiting for passengers because this is the fastest means of transport here due to traffic that occurs generally in Alaba International Market everyday.

I want to appreciate you for going along with me, I hope I did not take much of your time. But did you notice anything special here? We will talk about it on my next Blog, thank you.
