Some people are more conscious about traditions and some are less but at the time they both following the traditions. As I mentioned above I live in Pakistan and Pakistani peoples are more conscious about their traditions. They always follow their tradition in any state of life.

Engagement ceremonies are a traditional part of Pakistani culture. Engagement ceremonies in Pakistan are not like most of the ceremonies around the world. These ceremonies are not about love and marriage but about family heritage and social status.
Engagement ceremonies were traditionally and still are performed in the bride's home, with the groom's family arriving at the house bringing with them gifts of jewelry, clothes, and other items. The ceremony usually lasts until night, the Groom's family and bride's family give an engagement ring to each other
Then the date of couple's marriage is officially announced.

After the announcement of wedding the first event of Pakistani marriage is Mayon. This ceremony individually celebrated in bride's and Groom's house. In this ceremony their families offer them some sweets and also apply some yellow paste containing turmeric on their faces, arm's and legs. This ceremony is performed two days before the wedding and one day before the Mehndi ceremony

Baarat the main function of every marriage ceremony in Pakistan. On this day bride move towards the groom's house with him. A Baraat ceremony is a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony in which the groom's family members and friends visit the bride's house.The bride's family serves food to the guests and then the Nikah performed by a religious scholar. Nikah is a religious ritual in which the bride and the groom get married

Walima is also a religious ceremony when bride's family and friends came to groom's house. The bride's family is welcomed and fed by the groom's family, after which the groom accompanies the bride to the bride's house for two days and then returns to the bride and groom's house two days later and the wedding ceremony is over
