Fire have consumed the people I know a couple of times and I'm so much grieved. Yes, especially when the fire was ignited as a result of carelessness or ignorance. I have decided to write this article after hearing the latest incident yesterday. A promising future was devoured in his own apartment for avoidable reason.
In this article, we shall be discussing how you can avoid fire outbreak in your home this season and beyond. These includes cooking gas fire, petrol fire, etc. We will concentrate on these two because they account for majority of fire explosions. So, that been said, lets jump straight into it, starting from the first.

If you reside in Nigeria or some other African countries, you probably bhave been storing your cooking gas with cylinder. It could be very dangerous if you did not imbibe certain safety measures. This is because the substance is highly inflammatory and only the careful will survive it.
In this section, we are discussing how to avoid explosion when using gas cylinder. The first thing you must never do while using the utensil is use phone inside your kitchen. Some people say, don't make calls in the kitchen, but I say don't bring phone into the kitchen or close to wherever a gas filled cylinder is kept.
The thing is, even if the cooker is not lit, there may be leakages on the body of the cylinder. Although, I'm not an expert but they said when it flares, a ringing phone can ignite it. It is call electromagnetic. It nearly killed my cousin about 5 years ago, and it burnt a friend's brother to ashes two years ago.
That's about the people I know. What about those that are in the news and social media, whom I don't know. So, everyone should try to keep away any type of phone away from the kitchen, android phone or whatever.
We also know that sometimes the burner or any other part of the cooker may develop fault unnoticed. What do you do about that? First, you should run a check on the cooker possibly, daily. And if you can afford fire extinguisher, do yourself a favour and get it. If you can't, get empty water can, fill it with water and add a good quality of detergent. This is just a right way to improvise for extinguisher if it is a for domestic use.
Keep it by the corner, possibly outside the house where you can easily lay your hands on it. Please, note, don't keep this mixture inside the kitchen. This is because it may be difficult to access it when the fire starts in the kitchen. That's about LNG otherwise known as cooking gas.

Due to erratic power supply in some countries, citizen resort to alternative means. They buy electricity generating set to power their appliances, equipment, etc. This has led to the death of many or destruction of properties worth billions of dollars.
Many of these fire outbreak result from carelessness or ignorance as has been mentioned. For instance, the most recent was caused by carelessness. A man who worked in the petroleum products deport should know all the safety measures involved in managing petrol. Instead, he flaunted it, and he paid with his life. He was refilling his tank while his generator engine was working in top gear.
What To Avoid When Running Your Electricity Generating Set
So, these are the acts you must avoid when using a generating set:
Don't top up your fuel tank while the engine is on. Carefully switch off the engine, lock the fuel tap supply to the engine. Always use funnel, so that the substance doesn't spill. This is because if it spills, it may come in contact with the spark plug. This will definitely ignite fire if you try to kick the engine immediately. This could be very devastating, so avoid it.
Never bring your phone close to the machine. Most time people use the torchlight on their phone while putting on their generators. Please avoid the temptation. Buy a separate torchlight for this purpose. It happens just as it is explained above; electromagnetic effect.
Generally, keep fire extinguisher around, and if you can't afford it, get an empty water can, fill it with water and add a good quantity of detergent. Store in a place very far from the point of use. In fact, for domestic use, the improvised fire extinguisher is just the right fit.

Please try to stay safe. Don't gamble with your safety. Spend a few dollars to get equipment that will keep fire at bay in your apartment. This is because you will lose in multiple of millions, billions or even invaluable if you don't do the needful.
