Honestly, I am so excited to have been giving this opportunity to tell you all about my city, Port Harcourt, which is the capital of Rivers State Nigeria.

Rivers State is one of the states that makes up Niger-Delta and Niger-Delta is the region that is endowed with crude oil including so many rivers, lake, Oceans in Nigeria, Rivers State is located in the Southern part of Nigeria.

Rivers State is the treasure base of the Nation, Nigeria. The capital of Rivers State is Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt is one of local governments that makes up the 23 local government of Rivers State. Rivers State is made up of different ethnic groups with different language, in Port Harcourt the different ethnic do not hear themselves, so we speak English as a common language

the Garden City, Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt City is known as a Garden City filled with fancy cars, crowded bars, super models, this city is called Garden City because of the beautiful gardens, trees and parks, it's also known as commercial centre where business people engage in serious production and marketing of good and services, industrial City for social economic life, Port Harcourt remain outstanding as it is known for having good infrastructures like good road network, planned housing estate, hospital, good schools and so many amusement centers. Port Harcourt is one of the biggest and richest cities in Nigeria, it's in this city where most of the government's offices, oil refineries, factories, universities, sea ports, multinational oil companies like SHELL, ELF, LNG and Ajip are located, there is a high chance of securing good job opportunity in this city and the activities of this company generate revenue to the state and country. Port Harcourt is known to have more of the best and largest sea ports in Nigeria which is known as Onne Sea Port where import and export activities takes place.

Port Harcourt City is known for as free, lively and as a place to have fun as it is surrounded with tourist attraction centre, amusement parks, zoos, the Pleasure Park, SPAR, Port Harcourt beach and different eateries and hotels which offers both local and intercontinental dishes, particularly Port Harcourt is known for this special delicacy which is roasted plantain and roasted fish called Bolè this food is always sold by the road side, there is a special day which is said to be this Bolè festival day in Port Harcourt.

Port Harcourt City is a peaceful City which harbours both strangers of high class and low class, people's activities and occupation determines the location which they reside but for a stranger wanting to move into Port Harcourt City for the first time, I would recommend one resides in Peter Odili Road, it's a quiet, peaceful area, with good road network to other parts of the city, electricity and security service is satisfactory, the cost for apartment is affordable, go there at night, you will appreciate it's beauty.

Port Harcourt City is a city everybody wants to live in as a result it's getting overcrowded making the beautiful city stucked with people and their various activities which is causing the blockage of other access roads leading to other parts of the city and thereby causing traffic jam. This occurrence of traffic jam has one time in 2010 led to the death some people in a public transport vehicle as high tension electric wire, a property owned by Power Holding Company of Nigeria fell on the vehicle and electrocuted them to death, this awful incident happened right before me, It was bitter day in Port Harcourt City. I applaud the past Governor, Rotimi Amaechi over his ideas and effort on how to decentralize Port Harcourt City, for other interesting things about Port Harcourt that I must have skipped, I am inviting @dboaz, @sledgeheart, @jahsway to join this contest as Port Harcourt Steemians.
