It's a pleasure participating in this contest which entails universal children's Day celebration.

Introduction

My little nephew

Children are the gift from nature to humanity, it does not matter their physical state or condition or sex of a child. Children are the touch bearer of tomorrow, futures of many generation, source of happiness to many homes.
Every child is unique, even though they look alike with their siblings or relatives, they have their unique trait as they grow up.

REASONS WHY CHILDREN'S DAY IS CELEBRATED UNIVERSALLY AND A BRIEF HISTORY

Children's Day is a day children gets excited and eagerly await to be celebrated, it's a day that is declared to create awareness amongst children worldwide to improve children's welfare, to promote international togetherness amongst children, to create and bring awareness of the rights and education for children, to initiate the actions that promote and benefit the welfare of world's children and also build a better world for children

Every country has different day that is declared for celebrating children, in Nigeria children's Day is celebrated every 27th May, on this day children are granted holiday, in their local schools they go to the stadium where each school tender a special march pass, the local school with the best marching performance wins the honour for that year.

All over the world, Children are the basic of every society because without children there will be no potential adult. All over the world, children are the future of tomorrow. In other for us to create a better tomorrow we have to prepare, equip and protect the children. As they are the touch bearers of tomorrow, I believe they are worth celebrating to make them feel special and loved.

About the inventor and brief history of children's Day.

In 1857, Children's Day was first declared by Rev.Dr. Charles Leonard who was a Reverend in Universalist Church of Redeemer in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Leonard normally hold a special service for children he called a Rose day and later renamed it to be Flower Sunday and later renamed again to be Children's Day
In 1920, children's Day was adopted by the government of the Republic of Turkey, making it national holiday in Republic of Turkey. In 1929, the celebration of children's Day was made official by President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustapha Kamal Atakurre.

How the world adopted Children's Day.

This day was first nationally adopted and declared in Geneva, Switzerland during the World conference on welfare. In 1954, United Nation declared and encourage all countries to set a day outside to promote international togetherness amongst children worldwide, create the awareness, the right for education for children and also build a better world for Children.

Things I have learnt from Children

The children that I teach

I don't have a child but I have many little nephew and niece, I am a big uncle. I also had the opportunity to be a children teacher in my church, I have learnt a lot from Children

Forgiveness: during my stay in children's department in my church as a teacher, I learnt from Children, the actual act of Forgiveness. Severally, I had separately and settled fights (disputes) among children, and the way they embraced each other, related and co-existed after the settlement or when they see each other happen as though nothing of such nature ever happened. This is very much contrary to the lifestyle of must adults as it is very difficult to forgive ourselves and move on with our individual lives.
Patience; while I was with the children, I developed patience, a lot are slow in assimilating while some have a great understanding, I'd usually try to explain and carry the ones with slow understanding along, it wasn't easy. At some point some of the other children which had a faster understanding rate, on their own helped me to teach some of the other children, they were so patient with their peers as they taught them. It was quite appealing and exciting to me as these children exhibited the now rate attribute known as "patience". It motivated and encouraged me as a person to become more patient.
Children always feel relaxed and they don't force things; that which they are unable to do, when they get tired, they go to sleep without feeling worried, they just believe that, "that which they can't do, their parents can do it all for them" likewise the way Christians believe that God controls that which they can't control. I as an individual have learnt when to take a breath, relax and rebuild my strength to avoid stress.
Happiness; children as mostly said are happy beings, on certain occasion, some kids come to church wearing long faces and looking sad. However, within a short interval of a little encouragement which encompasses telling of stories, singing and sometimes prayers, the kids lighten up and become happy. I am as individual, even when life throws is own challenge at times, I try my best best to encourage myself and be happy like my children at all times.

Best gift that can be given to a kid that can make him or her feel loved.

The best gift that can be given to a child they can make him or her feel loved is wholly dependent on the personality and age of the child in question because some kids love toys like like baby dolls, toy cars and toy guns, some love painting, some love playing games, some love football and bicycle. The gift they appreciate most depends on their age at that point in their life.
Most kids between the age class of 1-3years love toys that produces sounds and and make movement like toy guns, toy cars, toy motorcycle.
Between the age class of 3-7years, most kids have gotten good balance to stand, run and kick something, at this stage for the boys they mostly appreciate and love football and for the girl child, many prefer female baby dolls that they would carry around and call their baby.
Between the age class of 7-11years older and above for the boy child, they start becoming creative, most kids loves sketching and painting, playing games computer games, and would like to own a painting board, a bicycle, laptop and PES video games. An interesting thing about this age class, they are not much interested in toys, they are always curious, interested to see what is the behind the mechanism that is causing their old toys to move, make sound and produce light. For a girl child in this age class, girls always wants to look fresh and beautiful, they would so much appreciate a new good dress, pants and shoes

The greatest gift of all is LOVE and CARE when a child feel loved, that child grow up to who he or she really wants to be, children that grew up with fear end up living in pretence, all through their life they try to impress people even at their own detriment, they never grow up to who they want to be. When a child feel loved, that child keeps no secret away from the parents.

In Conclusion

Children's Day is not all about organising events for children and giving gift to them, Children's Day is a day declared to advocate for children over having compulsory education, protecting their rights ensuring that they enjoy good health, provide them with the opportunity (foundation) to soar higher in other to achieve their goals. Parents are the role model of their children, a good parent doesn't have to be perfect, no child is perfect. Children watch everything their parents do, parents understand their child's emotion, respect their child, show them positive attitude and behaviour and they see their child's growing in that good path.
