Which is more convenient device for study- Laptop or Mobile

Living in a digital world, every aspect in life has been influenced including the educational field. The world has crossed from pen and paper period to digital device usage in learning. When it was newly introduced into the educational world, the old generations didn’t welcome it at first but the Gen-Z open handedly welcomed it. As time goes on, the digital world proves itself that it can be of benefits to the educational world. In this article, I’ll explore more about my favorite gadgets used for learning.

Between a phone and laptop for learning, I’ll choose a laptop over a phone. The main reason is the large screen surface which enhances learning. Digital learning is an audiovisual type of learning whereby the learning process is really executed visually than audio. For that to happen, I prefer a device with a large screen surface like a laptop to execute the task.

This is the current device I am wielding for different purposes. It’s a budget phone that runs on the Mediatek helio G85 processor. It operates on the android 13 which makes it work smoother. The specifications of this phone includes 128gb ROM, 4gb RAM, 50MP camera, side mounted fingerprint for security purposes, etc. apart from using it as a device for study, it functions as a blogging device, photography, entertainment and many more.

This laptop possesses the Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300U processor. It has an installed RAM of 8 GB and 237 GB ROM. It is important to note that it makes use of Window 10 pro. Most of my PDF are stored here.

For me, laptop is an easier device for study. Using my school life as a case study, we have tons of textbooks to buy and these books are usually expensive. To cut the cost, we prefer to download pdf from the internet or our respective lecturers. Then, this pdf can be accessed using digital devices. Using a laptop to read those pdf is more relaxing because of the large screen and less distractions from phone notifications. I may fall asleep while reading with a phone but I may not be on the laptop because of high light intensity.

My advice that I can give students is that not all fingers on the human hands are equal. This pertains to their budget in buying digital devices. Instead of running into debts and bankruptcy, stick to your budget. Also, use a device that makes you less distracted than the one with diverse distraction. With that, learning will be completed and any forms of incompetency will be eliminated.
