Welcome to another week of writing about active and fun classroom atmosphere while teaching and learning and I see this method of teaching as the best educational approach to effective learning.

Before I begin, I am inviting @aviral123, @sualeha and @artist1111 to participate in this engagement challenge contest.

When teaching, what steps will you use to create an active and fun classroom atmosphere?

To create an active and fun classroom atmosphere, I will like to do the following.

• I will establish an inclusive and positive classroom culture that will encourage empathy, respect and willingness to communicate among learners.

• I will also set clear objectives, standards and goals that is expected from the learners.

• I will make good use of engaging and interactive teaching methods during teaching such as debate, group discussion, interaction with technology and role play.

• I will aslo encourage active participation during the course of learning by randomly calling on students from time to time to answer question. By so doing, the students will be engaged and the classroom session will be active.

• For a fun learning atmosphere, I will always connect my lesson with real life scenarios, the event that is happening around and also tailor it to the interest of the students.

• I will try to make it a bit competitive by incorporating challenges like educational games, competitions and quizzes by so doing, the students will sit up and put in their best so as to win.🏆

• Praising the students whenever they make a little achievements or effort will encourage them to do more and the classroom will be active.

• I will always adjust my lessons to meet with the need of the students in other words I will be flexible and adaptable during the classroom learning.

• The use of storytelling will be of great help in the classroom in maintaining the fun and active learning atmosphere.

By following the steps I have listed above, I believe the classroom atmosphere will be active and fun while learning.

What were the results after you implemented these steps, were the students actively involved and happy following your lesson?

After implementing the steps I listed above there were alot of improvements and the results were remarkable.

★ There was improvements in student engagement, their academic performance, classroom atmosphere and student/teacher's relationship.

★ They showed interest in learning and were excited about it.

★ Thier grades improved drastically because they developed self esteem and confidence in their abilities leading to greater success in their academic career.

★ There was a collaborative spirit in the classroom as students enjoyed working together, sharing their ideas on what they learnt and also learned from one another.

★They also help me to build stronger bond with my learners and understanding their needs and what their interests are then tailored my teachigs to suit them.

In your opinion, what are the weaknesses and strengths of the strategies you have used?

Just as the question put it, there are both strengths and weaknesses to the strategies I used in order to have a fun learning and active classroom atmosphere.

Strengths

☆ There was an increased in engagement and motivation since the lesson was tailored to meet the student's need and interest.

☆ The learning was flexible since I usually adapt to students need and interest making them become fully engaged.

☆ This method encourage participation from the students even the ones who before now didn't enjoy learning.

☆ The different teaching method used keep the classroom active as they were not bored with one teaching style.

Weaknesses

¤ This method consume a lot of time since it is a personalised lessons and preparing it to meet with the need of students is really time consuming.

¤ This method sometimes was dependent on participation from the students and if they dont participate as I expected it to be, the lesson will not be effective.

¤ A lot of effort is needed to maintain a fun learning and active classroom atmosphere.

¤ When students fail to respond as planned, it will need me to try another approach and this make it difficult for the teacher to round up the lesson on time.

Conclusion

An active and fun classroom atmosphere is the best approach to teaching and learning as it enhances engagement and make students to stay motivated since the learning is enjoyable.
Active and fun learning boost creativity and improves retention of information which is far better than the passive learning method used by some inexperience teachers.
This method of learning help some students to develop social skills like communication, empathy and teamwork.
Finally, this method of teaching can have a positive impact on the student's academic career and make them to love learning as it is becoming more interesting.
