I am very happy on this occasion to be able to participate in SEC | S19W4: "Active and Fun Teaching Strategies". This is a very interesting topic where we can understand what strategies teachers use to make the class atmosphere fun and active. OK, here is my participation.

1. When teaching, what steps will you use to create an active and fun classroom atmosphere?

When teaching I will use the learning strategy component to create an active and fun classroom atmosphere. This is an effective way and is considered capable of improving students' abilities and achieving learning goals in the future learning process.

There are 5 main steps in achieving success in the learning process, the space feels active and is also able to create fun during the learning process;

Step1; "Introductory Learning Activities"

In this section, the teacher is expected to attract students' interest in the lesson material that will be presented. So, introductory activities that are presented in an interesting way will increase students' learning motivation. Like the slogan we have heard;

"The first impression is very tempting, then it's up to you... "

We can start preliminary learning by doing movements to focus students' minds and improve students' mood, such as;
*gives a smile when you first enter

  • sing together (can use chants or sing the class opening song or clap)
  • ask students what they are interested in (for example, the most fun activities students do at home)
  • give appreciation to students who are obedient and brave so that their friends can also be motivated.
  • create a learning contract with students (make it according to what is mutually agreed upon and make students enthusiastic)

I will use a method of conveying information that is liked by students. Because the preliminary process was successful, I could easily deliver the learning material. Initially, I will provide material based on students' stages of thinking, starting from simple things to more difficult things.

In fact, the characteristics of students greatly influence the scope of the material presented. Therefore, we as teachers need to consider the condition of students during the process of conveying information, make sure students are not under pressure, let alone under stress.

We should also avoid the lecture method from the beginning to the end of the learning process because it is possible that students will become bored until their attention is focused on other things.


Step3; Student participation

Students are the center of a learning activity. Therefore, the learning process will be more successful if students actively carry out exercises that are direct and relevant to the learning objectives.

  • exercises and practices are carried out after students are given information about certain knowledge, attitudes or skills on the subject of the lesson.
  • the teacher provides feedback on the students' learning results so that students will know whether the answers or activities they carried out were correct/wrong so that students can evaluate themselves in the next activity.

After the learning activity process is complete, the teacher should carry out a test after the information delivery process and also look at the student participation process. Like;

  • At the end of the learning activity, we can ask interesting or funny questions or questionsguessing method. For example, students can name 4-5 body parts. The standard of success given is that at least students can name 3 of them or 80-85%.

Step5 ; Continuing Activities

This is an activity known as "follow up". This activity is carried out after the test is given. The teacher has provided learning material in a fun and comfortable classroom atmosphere, so the teacher is obliged to know how successful the students are on the test and after that the teacher can provide further action for those who have not succeeded so that they will receive different follow-up as a consequence of the learning outcomes. which is varied and fun.


2. What were the results after you implemented these steps, were the students actively involved and happy following your lesson?

The teacher has carried out the entire learning process well and the class atmosphere is cheerful and comfortable, thereby arousing student motivation and the class becomes active, so the result is that students are actively involved and happy following the lesson.

Comfort and psychological calm of students are the main things that teachers must pay attention to. Because students are the main component that must be selected as a learning center. When students are happy, the classroom atmosphere will change to be pleasant and they will become active when learning so that the goals of the learning process can be absorbed well and produce outstanding students.


3. In your opinion, what are the weaknesses and strengths of the strategies you have used?

In my opinion, part of these steps will have weaknesses when the teacher starts the learning process without making small talk so that students will get bored and do their own activities. Introduction is the main key, if this process does not succeed in creating an active classroom atmosphere, then the teacher should look for other alternatives such as doing group work.

Each group must have students who are smart, active and shy so that those who are initially not interested in learning will gradually mingle and those who are shy can also express their opinions to the group leader so that all students can work together and complete their assignments well.

You must always have a Plan B in every step you take, whether in the learning process or when an evaluation is carried out.

Conclusions

Becoming a teacher is not easy. Teachers are not only tasked with delivering material and then going home, they are icons of education where teachers are the people they know best and even act as substitute second parents for their students. The success of a student is seen from how successful the students are, and vice versa.

Teachers are unsung heroes, they fight against ignorance. The knowledge conveyed will not be useful if students ridicule, act rudely or do not appreciate it. Teachers risk their lives and bodies in providing knowledge so that students do not become stupid and are fooled.

The learning process provided will be successful when teachers and students can work together and by working together learning objectives can be achieved well, easily and quickly. Learning strategies are the methods that teachers will use during the learning process. So, choosing the right strategy will make the learning process easier too.

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo, debemos atender los intereses y necesidades de los tanto de manera grupal como individual, ya que cada niño es único y eso de debe tomar en cuenta a la hora de impartirles la enseñanza, pues para nadie es un secreto que las características de cada estudiante influye en gran manera en el alcance de los objetivos también debemos asegurarnos como bien lo dices tu, que los estudiantes no estén bajo presión, y mucho menos bajo estrés, todo esto también puede afectar su preceso de aprendizaje.

Anda menjelaskan secara detail apa yang anda lakukan ketika memulai proses belajar mengajar, dan hal itu bisa memicu partisipasi aktif dari siswa.

Sehingga siswa bisa memahami materi yang diajarkan. Karena itulah tujuan daripada proses belajar itu sendiri.
