INTRODUCTION

Teaching is not just talking and hearing, it is the process of impacting knowledge, moral, precepts from a facilitator to the learners.
In classroom teaching and learning, there are necessary teaching skills for teaching delivery.

In teaching, there is a specified time frame, content and location.
Overtime, teaching has seem to be boring and uninteresting.
learners seeing it as a for success but not immersed in the teaching process, thereby giving us half-baked individuals

When teaching, what steps will you use to create an active and fun classroom atmosphere?

However, the teaching skills are certain skills the teacher employ to keep the learners engaged in the course of teaching delivery.
Among my favourite are Set induction, reinforcement, Stimulus variation.

  • Set induction is the skill used in arousing the interest of the learners before teaching takes place, however, the teacher also uses the skill when the focus of the learners are distracted.
    Set induction can be in the from of questioning or story telling.
    The story telling or questioning however will be in the context of what is being taught at the moment.
    Teaching is communication and the ability of the teacher to make it active and fun is a plus.
    The teacher having being a trained and qualified individual has the ability and responsibility to ensure that learners not only learn the head knowledge but to learn in a way that it won't leave their memory in a hurry.
  • Reinforcement could be negative or positive where a learner is rewarded for doing well and bad.
    Positive reinforcement can come with clapping for a learner, use of kind words and even gifts.
    Negative reinforcement can also come with non verbal gestures like frowning, corrections, or facing the naughty corner (grounding)
    When reinforcement is carried out focus would be achieved.
    However, it is good to note that negative reinforcement should not be done in extreme measures.

  • Stimulus variation is the skill used to by changing teaching method and style to maintain students attention and engagement.
    Teaching a versatile professional, it is neither stagnant but dynamic.
    The ability of a teacher to use instructional techniques in situations or cases show how well the teacher understand the detriments of his/her profession.
    There is a way a teacher would notice that the learners focus is divided, he or she would switch to to more better approach, be it dancing, illustration, repetitions, questionings explanations and the use of examples.

By all means godly, the aim of the lesson must be achieved. As such, that through the said techniques, there would be teaching experience not just for the learners but for the teacher too.
That the teacher would be able to handle likely situations in the future and having gained first hand experience, at the other land the learners would be active and the learning would not just be impacting but fun too.

What were the results after you implemented these steps, were the students actively involved and happy following your lesson?

The results gotten after implementing these steps are superb
As a teacher myself, with the aim of creating an atmosphere suitable for learning, I have employed these skills and the students were actively involved and were happy.
How I found out was through statistics taken after a semester.

The students were able to remember the subjects, the way it was demonstrated and illustrated during teaching process. This made me likewise happy because learning is not just for knowledge same but should be fun too.

In your opinion, what are the weaknesses and strengths of the strategies you have used?

No system is perfect, however, there are some strengths and little weaknesses in the strategies used.
In the case of set induction, some students who are facing social or emotional challenges might not cope with this skills.
Students who might have some issues from the home either from background or parental challenge
This would however demean the focus of the students and might not find the teaching fun and active.

A teacher's achievement can be seen from how successful students are in achieving learning goals...
We know that students have emotions that change very quickly, when they start to get bored they will do whatever they want, even sleeping becomes their choice.
It is very important to have good learning strategies and ones that students must like so that they are motivated...

Totally agree with you no system is perfect. When we start any job any work or teaching job we make some good strategies for it. You mange your work as a teacher is perfect. Teachers do everything perfect for his students so that students are on higher rank. So I wish you more success. Keep growing up with steem. Greetings from my side
