Learn with me #4 "Character; the foundation for success"

Lovely greetings to teachers and students, big thanks @miftahulrizky for organizing this contest " Learn with me #4". As a student in this community, I have learnt so much from this community. Teachers and students, I ♥️ us all for good job well done.

Character, the foundation for success is what I can't forget so fast in one of the book I have read this month. Readers are Leader.

When I was growing up, what I saw my father doing is what I copied and grow with it because it was working for him and I have to follow his steps. Every months, my father will buy a new book back home for reading. So one day I ask him daddy why? "He said, hidden truth are found inside books" and I said thank you sir.

Character are built through cultivating it and it is only through books that one can learn it. I just want to share what "character, the foundation for success has done or will do if you follow same.

What is character?

Character is the inherent complex of attributes that determines a persons moral, ethical, actions and reactions. Character is the essential qualities by which something is recognized and the properties acquired as a consequence of the way you were treated as a child.
It is nature cultured and disciplined so that natural tendencies are brought under the controlling influence of the moral motive.

Productive, good and cherish able character will not grow over night but it must be brought under self discipline and organized in the structure of a true moral being.

People with good character are consistent and those who try to use multiple standards with different people and in different situations live broken lives and if we hire a person with substandard character but who can produce, we may benefit financially but will have to deal with a lost of other challenges caused by their poor character which becomes more of a headache than it's worth.

Some of us want to hire and work alongside people who can produce but who also demonstrate exceptional character and some of such distinguishing feature of personal nature just to mention few which are;

1. Helper
2. Hard working
3. Leader
4. How to inspire others
5. Lover of others
6. Elegance
7. Honesty etc

While some think of the opposite because of lack of attention from love ones or parents which make them to feel hopeless and they have not seen any good character from their parents that they can use as a standard in every situation. If something is right. It's always right and if it's wrong, it's always wrong.

When you say you will do something, do you follow though? Are you known as someone who delivers? Or do others sometimes worry that you may give up or not show up? This are some of the questions we parents and teachers should ask ourselves because our wards are watching and they will follow our feet steps base on every thing we do.

The beautiful thing is that character can be reshaped as well as altered. It may be different but is possible. It doesn't matter what may have gotten to us or may have influenced our character negatively. I also see character as a window through which I see the world. Some people windows may be gotten a smoky fire by language or behavior intended to mock, humiliate from peers, act that brings discredit to the person who does it by rejections, soiled by disappointments clouded by doubts and covered by criticism from parents, teachers and the social media.

It is time we wash our character window, brace ourselves and move on don't give up in ourselves because those who give up can't reach the winning line of life. Let us refuse to muse over the mistakes of the past and move ahead.

Conclusion

Even if you can't help thousands, you can at least touch one. Parents, school and teachers should not play the ostrich, there is fire on the mountain if our wards don't have a good character that is built in them before they face the society in general, there will be misunderstanding everywhere.

Parents and teachers must be care givers who emphasis on love more than orchestrated beating. They must learn to probe into any youths affairs that show signs of emotional imbalance in character and they should organize seminars and teaching on those factors that can build good character for our community to be at peace because good character strengthen mental health and make our joy easy.

We parents must see to it that we train our wards to be men and women with backbone, we should early inculcate in them that life is about fighting, winning and allow them really grow up in good character because the bible said, Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
