"SEC-S19W6 | Digital Applications in Learning".
Today, I would like to participate in the contest “Digital Applications in Learning” that raises the topic of modern digital technologies in the learning process. As it has been seen with the introduction of various technologies in the classrooms, learning increases in interactivity as well as in access and individualization. In this battle, I will expand more on how various applications are making education engaging and laying down ground for a more efficient learning process.
Technological development is creating new and unprecedented changes in education. Interactive Learning Apps promote utilization of tangible items that learners can interact with and Video Conference Apps facilitate learners’ interactions even across different continents. Document Storage and Sharing Apps are convenient to manage resources, and Content Creation Apps help in designing as per a user’s preference and innovation. These tools are incorporated into Learning Management Systems, which makes education more engaging, available, and personalized.
As far as I am concerned, Steemit looks very promising to be used as a learning application due to the described peculiarities. With the help of content creation and curation features, it is possible to share a wide variety of educational materials: from articles to the discussion in the form of polls. This increases interconnectivity of people around the world making learning experiences as well as exchange of ideas much easier. The incentive mechanism leads to the generation of quality contents, while dissemination through distributed ledgers authoritative. Altogether, therefore, it is unreservedly opportune that the option of Steemit can be so profitably utilized for improving and popularizing education.
From my perspective, I think that digital applications are a great addition to learning but cannot be a replacement for the traditional face to face learning. On the one hand, the technology based events are flexible and global, but in-person events have their importance in the form of feedback, emotional support, and experiential learning. Consequently, face to face learning promotes social relatedness that cannot be substituted by discrete technologies. When teaching and learning moves towards the implementation of the blended solution of both online and classical learning styles, educators can provide the best experience.
In conclusion, I can state that digital applications have significantly transformed education due to their flexibility, interactivity, and accessibility. It improves the learning process through many forms of resources and a connection to the global world. Nonetheless, integrating CMC technologies augments the traditional teaching methodologies significantly; nevertheless, incorporating face-to-face contact learning guarantees a more holistic learning process.
