The Night Manager review - a fantastic mini-series many never discovered!

The Night Manager is the name of a mini crime series from 2016. It stars Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston, two characters many rather refer to as Dr. House and Loki.

The story is based on a book written by John le Carre. There are a total of six episodes, and it aired on BBC in the UK and on AMC in the United States back in 2016. Now it is much harder to find it online, so you might have to look around on different streaming services to find it. I have looked for The Night Manager on Netflix, but it cannot be found anywhere (even a VPN that will help you change your Netflix region is unable to help you).

What is The Night Manager all about?

Tom Hiddleston works as a night manager of a hotel in Cairo. This is how he suddenly gets some famous guests (an arms dealer played by Hugh Laurie) and starts a relationship with a special lady (the girlfriend of Hugh Laurie). However, things are about to get complicated as he stumbles upon secret information. When something happens to the lady he put eyes one, in addition, things are even harder. But, life goes on and he moves on. However, as the same famous guest (Hugh Laurie) returns to where he is by coincidence once again (working at a hotel somewhere in the alps), this is about to heat up. How can he get revenge for what happened to his "girlfriend?"

The story might not seem radically interesting, but watching this show is a real treat. It is packed with intrigue, drama, excitement, and good acting. I was really addicted to this show as I watched it, and I wouldn't have any trouble watching it once again.

Tom Hiddleston is doing an awesome job as the Night Manager, and even though I enjoy him as Loki, this is by far the most interesting and best performance I have seen of him so far.

I should also say that Hugh Laurie is awesome in his job as a crook (an arms dealer), and together, this is set to be one of the most interesting shows I have seen in the last years.

They have also managed to give the show an atmosphere and intensity, that makes it like a six-hour-long adrenaline show as you watch the six episodes.

So, where can I watch The Night Manager?

I hope I have managed to get you interested because The Night Manager truly is a gem of a mini-series. It can be compared to the BBC series Bodyguard in intensity, but this is just as good, if not better!

But, you cannot watch The Night Manager on Netflix, nor on Hulu, nor on BBC... The only streaming service I found with The Night Manager is Amazon Prime in the UK and in the United States. It isn't that hard to watch Prime abroad, but still... it is a quite expensive experience. So, you will most likely do better just borrowing The Night Manager from your local Apple Store, Google Play Store, or by downloading it from some other page online.

I give this a strong 9/10...

Once again, one of the best mini-series I have seen in a long time. It has an absolutely awesome atmosphere throughout the episodes, hard to predict what is going to happen, and with fantastic acting by Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Coleman, and Tom Hollander.
