Undercover Season 3 - quick review
So after my win on the best 90's scifi flic (very humble thanks), I feel inspired to write about one of my fave netflix shows - the Dutch series called "Undercover"
Season three just dropped out of nowhere - I had no idea it was under production. I was so stoked to see it pop up on my feed because I dam loved that show. There are many reasons I enjoy Undercover but the top reason is the lovable gangster "Ferry". This dude is a total killer! You fuck with Ferry, you get dead - the end. The first two seasons established that he is not to be a man to trifle with and although he is in many ways the hero of the story, inevitably he ends up in jail, where to be honest he deserves to be.
For those of you unfamiliar with the series you are in for a treat - get straight in to season one and be prepared for some binge watching - you will be hooked immediately as the story of the undercover agents sent to infiltrate Ferry's gang unfolds. It's a love story, an action film, a romantic comedy and a rollercoaster cops n robbers drama.
Like many of the European series it doesnt dumb things down or dress things up, there is drugs, swearing, nudity, sex and serious violence. What is lacking in many American made shows is the reality. In Undercover there is no lesbian muslim, there is no professor black man, and no wheelchair bound neighbour - lets face it, those characters are not realistic and USA made programs seem to be more concerned about including rainbow warriors and "people of colour" than actually building a realistic story. Forget that shit it in Undercover - its gritty and it's in your face. the characters are ugly and flawed. Like the real world.
Season three sees the two main adversaries of season 1 and 2 team up to build an ectasy lab and sell to the Turks. All in the hope of uncovering the mole at the police station. They hate each other but they both have no option but to put their differences aside and get shit done.
Check it out peeps - its awesome, its Undercover Season 3 and its on Netflix now!
I saw this pop up on my Netflix radar the other day and ALMOST decided to watch it. Maybe next. Are seasons 1 and 2 worth seeing? I hesitate to get involved in series these days unless all the seasons are good.
all are great! watch them all!
