The Last Czars
The Netflix series The Last Csars is about the last members of the Russian royal family and the years previous to their fall and execution.
Depicted as a drama program and as a documentary, invited historians give their opinion while the story runs. In this 2019 adaptation, the writers shown the human side of the Romanovs, their expectations about themselves, the fallen attempts to stay in power and the fear they felt before the execution.
Since the marriage of Nik olas II and Alexandra Fiodorovna -neé Alix von Hesse- and the arrival of Grigori Rasputin, the viewer witnesses the birth of the four dutchesses Maria, Olga, Tatiana and Anastasia, the desperate attempts to keep the tsarievich, Alexei alive despite the chronical hemophilic condition he was born with and the difficult political ambience of that period.
Nine years later, the First World War started and Russia join the belligerents. The people had to fight the Military in the first revolution but, due to the terrible logistic in the battle field and the worsened economy finally it turned against the Tsars and the October Revolution took place in 1917.

Just watched this a couple of weeks ago and it was interesting! I didn't know much about Rasputin apart from the song and he was an interesting character.
