Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Becomes The First-grossing Japanese Live Action Film of 2021

Hallo Steemian...

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, which is currently showing in Japanese theaters, has just been ordained as the country's first highest-grossing live-action film throughout 2021. The achievement of this film is surprising because of the widespread social restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has also hit Japan.

According to news.mynavi.jp, as reported by Rurouni Kenshin's Facebook account, the fourth film of the samurai earned a gross income of 745 million yen or equivalent to Rp. 99.1 billion.

The film, which first aired in Japan on April 23, 2021, is circulating in 362 theaters with a total of 480 studios across the country. Making it the biggest Japanese film screening of the title ever.

Many consider this achievement to be a good start for Rurouni Kenshin's fifth film. In fact, its revenue broke its own record by surpassing the box office earnings of the second film, Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno in 2014.
