Review: Justice League

With respect to this film, there are two "key" points, one good and the other bad. The good news is that this movie is better than Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad It is a filming of superheroes that fulfills its mission, to entertain with a good rhythm. The bad thing is that they implemented an air similar to that of direct DC competition. The formula in which they decided to take the dialogues feels as if they were trying to give a "Marvel" tone to the film, presenting a good dose of jokes, something different from what its original director had in mind.

After the death of his daughter, Zack Snyder had to leave the filming of the Justice League. Because of this Joss Whedon resumed the recording giving a twist to Snyder's vision of the film. Whedon gave her a hopeful and fun direction, away from the realistic, dark tone Snyder wanted.

Possibly inspired by the success Wonder Woman had, the Amazon stars in the Justice League ensemble. You would only have to watch the trailers and clips to realize that the Bat Man would play a more fundamental role in the union of the heroes. Ben Affleck returns to perform a good job as The Night Knight, this time being less tense, more relaxed, making tongue-in-cheek remarks and allowing himself to demonstrate a romantic interest in Diana. Although it should be noted that Ben Affleck does a better job as Bruce Wayne than Batman.

The threat that Steppenwolf represents and the search for the three Mother Boxes, fits more with the story of Diana than with the prosaic world of Batman. Anchored to the development of the Amazon warrior and the transition from the most cosmic/fantastic elements unfolds smoothly looking at it from Diana's point of view, without having Bruce or Alfred watching the misguided ones it feels like leading a fight with aliens and gods.

Beyond the narrative development, Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman proves to be on par with her peers, even surpassing them as far as I'm concerned, being able to carry a full cast. And to end the trinity of this cinematic universe, Superman, played by Henry Cavill, proves himself worthy of wearing the cape. Her death in Batman V Superman relieves her parting for much of the film, but that is no impediment to her shining when she returns to the world of the living.

On the other hand, Joss Whedon's hand shows in the direction of the film, bringing jokes and some lightness to the corrupt Gotham City for the first time. This new approach looks good on the new characters introduced. Flash, for his part, takes on the role of a rookie hero, being he who makes the frequent jokes in the team, putting himself only in scenes with his father in jail. And Aquaman, who is shown as a "novice prince" who, still, shows conflicts to assume his role.

Although the development of them is somewhat short for the needs of a film with many heroes. But worse situation is that of Cyborg, who despite being directly related to the unfolding of the plot for being created from a Mother Box, is overshadowed and without winning the favor of the public.

In the visual section, it can be said that it is not bad but it does not have what was expected either. The color palette is drowned in it from Batman V Superman but it contrasts with the "vivid" colors of Thor: Ragnarok, this because both water in Jack Kirby's work as many are his characters as the locations.

The best effect, in my opinion, is almost everything I relate to Steppenwolf, the tube he uses to transport himself to his ships. But with all that, the character is far below, even a little beyond Cyborg. It is hardly a threat without specificity, becoming interchangeable for Wonder Woman's Ares, its lack of development does not affect much in a film that tries to cover many heroes, half of them new.

Justice League in short is an entertaining story of superheroes that turns its direction to the general public, we are going to turn it into an Avengers movie but with different heroes, and I say this because of its forced change of director, since if Snyder ended it for sure we would have a different version; that and that it loses ground due to its lack of originality.

But beyond my opinion, it is you who decide if you like it or not. Extracting the errors, the bad development of some characters, the excessive jokes and having the vision of completely different directors, does not fail to fulfill the purpose of a film. My recommendation is that you see it and if you have not, although I think you have seen it by now, you should give it a try.

I came to Justice League after the major disappointment of Batman v Superman, and after that, it doesn't require much to give a good impression. The film still cannot be compared to the Avengers movies from Marvel, but still, I had a good time watching this movie, and I would for sure watch any new movies in the Justice League series based on what I saw in this one!

This one did surpass Batman V Superman, but I don't think it's higher than that. I enjoyed it in the cinema when I saw it, I left there with a good feeling. Sure it doesn't live up to the Avengers movies, but for DC it's fine.
