Minari: 6 Oscar nominations

The movie, starring Steven Yeun and Han Ye Ri, managed to move me as it has a story that talks about migration. It's very simple: a Korean family is looking for a new beginning for their lives in Arkansas, paying special attention to the protagonist's dream of having his own garden to try to earn a living.

It tells the intimate story of a South Korean American family that must adapt to their life in this country, while dealing with their own differences, which have increased thanks to the appropriation that each of the members has made of American culture.

Something that caught my attention is the message behind its title, Minari is a plant known as water celery that is capable of surviving in any territory. This makes me think of the millions of people who at some point in their lives have had to leave their native country, to enter an unknown world bringing with them all the problems that are reflected in this film.

This is a true Oscar-winning play, it has impeccable staging, very compelling performances, and very good dialogue. It is a lovely movie, which made me laugh and move at the same time.
