Groceries in case of emergencies

Mum convinced me to buy groceries. I usually don't because I eat at work so there's no need to which means my cupboards are empty.
She sent a link to an article about what to buy. It says the government's advice is to have at least one month's food in store in case of crises. Water is the 1st to buy.
