C for coffee

I don't drink coffee and I wonder how expensive coffee is.
Not for me but for those who buy it and drink it at home or the employer. In some offices, employees can drink coffee for free and even throughout the day.

One kilo of coffee yields 135 cups. Cups of 120 millilitres so not a big cup full. If you do not like strong coffee, you will pay more. If you like strong coffee, one kilo will not last as long.
But suppose you drink 1 cup of coffee a day, then 3 kg per year is enough. When you look at it this way, coffee is actually not that expensive.

Suppose 4 euro for 1 kilo is 12 euro per year divided by 365 days is less than 3 euro cents per day. Okay, you have to make it yourself, water, electricity and if you like sugar and milk, it will cost you more. Three eurocents a day (a few extra cups for visitors or on Sundays and public holidays can also be deducted, because 3 kg is good for 405 cups).
It is unbelievable that for 3 cents a cup the coffee bean can grow, be picked, be roasted and still be packed and shipped.

By the way, there is a nice profit, because if you go somewhere for a cup of coffee, it is much more expensive and the coffee is not always fresh. The 3 cents will quickly become 3 euros if not 5.

Are you a coffee drinker? Have you already stocked up on coffee or will you soon do without when there is nothing left to buy?
