Who knows in 40 years you don't mind to be a happy fool!
It's true that it does transform us and in many cases we forget about our own needs.
Where is it you are moving away from? I assume you move into the kitchen to make the milk coffee?
I think that even if I'm 80, I'll NEVER forget past experiences and I'll continue to think the same way I do now. There are marks in my life that I don't think will ever disappear.... They transformed me into a man very different from others. In fact, I joke that I'm an endangered species, and I could be.
This life has been hard on me, but I learn quickly.
I did not say you forget or should forget. I know I won't, but I do hope that you will not care in 40 years or better way earlier for real that it's no problem to be called a "happy fool".
We grow,we laugh, we live and love is part of it. The way it shows is not important.
There's a time for everything.
