I have an ailurophobia which means I'm freaking scared of cats! I would either be screaming like a banshee or be stone freeze when there's a cat near me. Most of the time, I would be screaming. lol. 😂😂
Some people make fun of me cause well, cat is cute, cat is lovable, bla bla bla. I don't care! I just don't want them near me. I'm scared! Even a picture of a cat is scary enough for me. It brings shivers down my spine.
But.. I LOVE cartoon cats. As long as it's not real I do think it's cute, adorable and funny. lol 😂
I'm blessed to have an understanding husband. If I scream and there's something with a word cat in it, he would tolerate me and would consider it as an emergency. ❤️
I was working as a kindergarten teacher once. One day, there was a kitten ran into our classroom. I stood still as a rock. When I heard her meowing, it sent shivers down my spine. My children, they love cats. I just couldn't think straight. I was too scared to do anything. Then my ex co-worker came because of the commotion. She took the little kitten away and said to me, "It's just a cute little cat. What's the problem?" She knew I'm scared of cats cause she was the one who showed me her cats pictures and I just couldn't look. That was how she knew.
By the time she got the little kitten, I already had tears down my face and my kids saw. That day, I lost all my trust in her. It was around 8 years ago.
Now, nearly all of my kids that I teach would know that I'm scared of cats and some of them would be like, that's OK teacher, I will protect you. Or, I'm scared too. Hahaha. 😂
Now, I'm teaching at a place where cats have free reign. They said to overcome your fear is to challenge them. I'm not making much progress but I can let them come near me about a 1-meter distance. Please, no more than that. I also realize that as long as the cat didn't look at me or if I couldn't see their head from the front, I would be less scared.

I can't believe it! I have two cute kittens. I never thought of having them. I think I had a bad experience with a cat as a child and I didn't want to know about cats for many years.
Now 8 years ago a cat came to my house and stayed to visit me. He came every day. Until my fear went away.
Now I have two kittens, I love them and I don't want to separate from them.
Wow, good for you. I think having pets around is very therapeutic. I only had fish and turtles before.
We still have fish now. My bro bought a pool and some aquariums to keep those fish as we don't have space for a pond.

I don't have a phobia as far as I knkw. No fear rules my life. Can be I was attacked,molested, bitten too much and with that all fear left me?

My sister is also afraid of cats. So, I feel normal to be afraid of cats when I was younger. Growing up, seems like mostly everyone I know love cats. Hahaha. 🤣🤣
My lil bro and my husband like cats though. They often buy cat food to feed the strays.
We don't interact with dog much here. And.. even if I saw one, I didn't scream. Hahaha. Usually their owner have a lease on them, so I'm not afraid. We also rarely have stray dogs around my area. As long as they didn't chase after me, I don't have much problem walking or cycling past them. 🤣🤣
