C stands for compassion
Sometimes in our compassionate quests we're met with such aggression that to not recoil would be plain unnatural.

I just finished watching obsessed with Idris Elba and Beyonce in there. There was this vicious fight scene where after narrowly escaping the same situation, Beyonce extends a helping hand to the hater; who is literally hanging by her fingerprints, who'd tried her best to kill her in the not so distant past. What does she do? Tries to take her down with her.

It can't be helped. You be as compassionate as you can manage but if you need to step away, you do that too.

Compassion usually rewards you all by itself. Do you recognize the great feeling you get after giving a helping hand? Or giving with no expectance of getting back what you give. Feeling what people feel and helping them is awesome for your mental health but when it's start affecting it negatively, step back and get some self-care. Or professional help if necessary.
