context makes the difference.

The circumstances, the events, the backstory behind a statement.

Context is everything.
A seemingly harmless statement could be the beginning of a longstanding feud if the context is unknown or has been misinterpreted.
I've been reading Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix. Harry has broken a law on using magic as an underage wizard. The consequences are calamitous. What is Harry to do?

He must go to a court hearing. There, he's asked straight forward answers which almost lead to his destruction. If the context of the event hadn't been uncovered and articulated and understood, destruction would have been a sure thing.
So today before you judge any situation, opinion, or action, look into the context first and try to understand it.
