Contest: C - stands for culture
The dictionary defines culture as the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Culture could be intrinsic and non-intrinsic that is to say that there are some aspects of culture that we can see and touch and there are sone aspects that we can't see and touch but we feel its impact. From the explanation and diagram given above we are made to understand that culture includes but is not limited to language, music, art, food, technology, dance, etc.
The sad news however is that culture especially in Africa, Nigeria to be specific is fading away as the young generation no longer have regard for culture. We now find cases where children and even some grown adults can't speak their respective native dialects neither can they make or even enjoy local dishes. Culture in Nigeria is fast fading away and is been replaced by so-called modernization. What's worse is that most parents contribute to this appalling situation. I only sincerely hope that our culture won't be extinct within the next decade..
I think it's not only sad but a disaster if children no longer speak their native language. The more languages the better it is also for the brain.
What you mention happens here too,everywhere. We lose ourculture, norms, values, language, celebrations and with that everything that makes us different, interesting plus people feel lost.
I wish I knew how to put it a hold but I don't.
It's really pathetic and before we know it, we would be without distinctive cultures. We owe it to the next generation to do our best to preserve our culture so they know where they come from and what they are known for.
A good subject we all should be aware of. Without culture no roots.
