No present for me
One of my cousins has her birthday next Saturday, we're invited and Sofia asks her what she wants as a gift, she replies No present for me,We looked at each other, we looked at her and she burst out laughing.
I told him, OK, we won't buy you anything, and that's when his smile disappeared and we were the ones who laughed.
Sofia says to her, let's be serious, ¿what do you want as a gift? She replies, a bag. OK, we respond, it will be your gift then.
We went out to buy her a bag ,in fact, it was Sofia who looked for it. After looking at several options, she chose the one you see here as a cake decoration. I like how it looks there. We bought it, and went back home after enjoying some ice cream. We already have her gift ready; we'll go celebrate on Saturday.

I don't think I'll find someone like that, not even my Sofia or I would. In this day and age, individualism reigns and it seems logical to me; individual well-being comes first.

I don't receive too many gifts, but when I do, I'm very grateful.
