Week 7 feedback CR for South Africa
Week 7
Greetings!
South Africa woke up this morning with breaking news of the "blackout" phase being moved from phase 5 to phase 6. The 3rd time in the history of the country that this has happened.
These power cuts result in up to 10 hours of no electricity per day. It made me perform my tasks on Steemit extremely difficult. At times it takes me 24 hours to reply to notifications.
A huge thank you to the STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE team for their support as I found myself stuck between my tasks on Steemit, being a housewife, and writing posts.

My 3 vows |
---|
- Support of Steemians (new and old)
- Growth and development of Steem and Steemit
- Promote and support new projects and initiatives launched
1. Support of fellow Steemians
Currently, there are two Steemians in the WhatsApp training group and forty on my spreadsheet who I am helping to improve the quality of their posts.
It is very rewarding seeing the overall improvement of posts from those Steemians I've been helping.

2. South Africa
Unfortunately, I am still in no position to give positive feedback regarding the growth of Steemit in South Africa.
3. World Smile Project
I am still waiting for the go-ahead of the @smilesouthafrica project.

A highlight of the week |
---|
The highlight this week was without a doubt my invitation to attend the talent evening of Cedarwood Learning Centre, the school in my WSP program.
It was amazing seeing kids who previously were bullied at school, disabled, and with learning difficulties perform on stage.
I realized that we need to say thank you each day for what we have.
I made it!
Five minutes before the next 5 hour power cut!
See you next week!
Thanks for your report.
Is there no way to collect power on accu while it is available? At least for your pc-equipment?
We have a small inverter and battery but it only last for +/- 1,5 hours.
The problem is that the times between the breaks are not long enough for the battery to charge. Our phones therefore receive priority.
That is also what the networks and even some water supplies are currently experiencing, not enough time for batteries to charge.
When we do have electricity there is limited time to write as there is so much else to do.
The only solution, to go off the grid when we buy our new home.
Good luck!
With PV on the roof?
Yip! It is just very expensive but yah, in the long run it will be worth it.
OMG without power for 10 hours. It lasts a very long time. We are also going through something similar, though not for as long. restricted to 1–4 hours.
It is truly not a nice situation and my heart is bleeding for those small business who cannot afford to run generators as fuel are just too expensive. Installing solar panels is also very expensive.
We even had a day last week without water as they could not pump water.
We can just keep on praying for solutions.
Wishing you a beautiful week! 🎕
Hearing this is incredibly sad. I'm hoping you'll soon get out of this bind. Have a nice day.
