Introduction

Goodmorning friends and the Steemit team (its 7.55am local time), time to make a report about my activities as a CR for the past week. I was not able to make the report yesterday or Saturday due to engagements, sorry about that. However, its important to take a look at some of the things I did to promote Steemit and support authors from my country

My activities for the Week

1. Ambitious Plan to Raise 1m SP in 1 year

I did a serious business meeting with the 11 city coordinators to discuss the possibility of accumulating 1m SP through various projects that encourage investment in Steem. After the meeting, which was very motivating and an eye-opener, we are agreed that with proper planning and various strategies, we can achieve that. After the meeting with the leaders, I went on to address the STeemAlive community through a presentation done by me and @ngoenyi. The class banner is shown below:

The class highlighted some ways to achieve that, but then focused on a project I conceived - The City Curator Accounts. After the class. We have made progress with the projected since everyone in the community saw it as a noble idea with many positives. Let me discuss some developments since the presentation of this project below

2. City Curator Project - 10 Accounts created,

After the presentation about City Curator project, everyone was excited. I created the accounts and send the details to each city curator. We announced that interested participants can start sending their savings - at least 5 steem. I was really amazed at how much our members loved the project even before launch. A great example is @citycuratoruyo. They hit 2000 Steem donation same day the account was created:

Credit to @ngoenyi who has done and continues to do tremendous job as City Coordinator Uyo. She even sent 1250 Steem to take the lead in the project. Little wonder other members followed suit:

Other cities like Aba, Asaba, Lagos and the rest also started sending their first week savings to the City Curator accounts. Below is the post announcing the accounts and how members quickly started sending steem:

SteemAlive Presents: 9 City Curator accounts ahead of the June 1 launching date.

If we can get 100k Sp in each account by 1 year, that would be a big way for the cities to support their members. We want to achieve three things through the project:

  • Give cities the capacity to support their members.
  • Encourage investment in Steem
  • Discourage the alarming rate some members cash out earned steem

We hope to achieve these in the long run

3. Recruiting and supporting newbies

We continue to recruit and mentor newbies as they join Steemit and the community. Our center in Aba Opens everyday and we attend to enquiries made by potential new users. The same thing happens across the 11 cities through the city cordinators work. Utilizing our limited voting power in the community trail, we have been able to support many newbies whose introduction post and other few first posts would have otherwise paid out without some value. Our spreadsheet started less than 2 weeks ago is filling up rather quickly, and we are trying to support the newbies that join as shown below:

4. Steem Branded T-Shirt and Radio adverts

I purchased 2 dozen T-shirts to a Printer with the design for STeem branding. The shirts are the first of many that will be made and distributed to Steemians in my city Aba. The Printer agreed to deliver the shirts tomorrow - 1/6/2021.

We hope to get some support from @stephenkendal, which was why we included his logo in the front design. He has given out several 100 steem support to our cities in uyo, Lagos, and Umuahia. If the program is still on, we will apply once the printer delivers tomorrow.

We could not go for a Radio presentation last Friday as we use to. There were developments in the city about a potential civil unrest from Saturday till Monday. So we didnt take the risk of inviting people over to the center. But once the threat has passed, we will resume our weekend 10 minutes presentation for Steemit. A lot of newbies have been recruited through that medium.

Conclusion

A lot was done the previous week, much has been planned for the coming weeks. And am sure to improve on other areas found wanting. Thank you the Steemit team for the opportunity to promote Steemit and support authors from my country as CR, together we can do more.
